In summary

Cedar Crest Golf Course receives praise for its friendly staff and well-designed layout, with some visitors appreciating the overall maintenance and variety of holes. However, there are frequent complaints about the high pricing relative to the course's condition, with issues such as slow greens, poor fairway maintenance, and a lack of GPS on carts being noted. Additionally, several reviews mention slow pace of play and inadequate management of tee times, which detracts from the overall experience.

Cedar Crest Golf Club (It’s not a club - it’s public) was a less than formidable challenge. This would have been a one (1) star review, but the pro shop, bar, and grill staff were all incredibly friendly. The course conditions, while incredibly lackluster, were made all the more abominable by the $73 price tag. If this was a $25 municipal course, it would have been 5 stars. The greens rolled at the same pace as my basement shag carpeting, many of the rough areas might as well have been marked as ground under repair, and the par 3 tee boxes were like hitting from a fairway bunker. The course la…

A really well run golf course, good people, good variety of holes. I think it is an awesome value. Sometimes slow play but they have a marshal out there (@employees keep working on this!) Decent challenge, a few more bunkers could make it interesting but overall fun and well run! Good food too

Greens are slow, fairways are in poor condition. No yardage markers of any use. The one I did find was inaccurate. The price is overpriced. Golf carts have no GPS, yet they price the course, like a quality course. I will not be playing there again.

An unforgettable golf experience. Over the last 8 years, I've played at some of the most pristine and prestigious golf courses in Virginia, North & South Carolina, and Tennessee. However, Cedar Crest Golf Club manages to be my favorite course that I've played. It was perfectly manicured, reasonably priced, and provided countless fun holes of golf. If I didn't live 10 hours away, I would play this course once a month or more.

Horrible management, course is in poor shape, no Marshall to help keep people moving and waiting 15+ mins at every tee box to tee off. Waste of money. Left at hole 14 after sitting around all day. Took 6 hours to get to 14. Go to literally anywhere else.

Course is in great condition Plan on 4.5 to 5 hours for a round there is no starter or Marshall and the pace of play is super slow and no one to keep the pace

Course has been in great shape when I’ve played a few times over the last few months. Same expensiveness as all the other courses in the area IMO. Wanted to play tomorrow, as a single, but they ‘don’t book singles, so you just kinda have to walk in’. Haven’t been told this before. Kinda off putting.

This course deserves a bad review today. We understand the need to stay on the cart path after it rains but to not keep speed of play moving is ridiculous. Over 3 hours for the back 9 is not acceptable. I kindly advised the front desk girl (Alexis) that a ranger(or person) was needed to speed up play. She only said that I should have called in to let them know. I didn’t know that was an option & it’s not posted anywhere to do that. She was not friendly at all. No apology and didn’t care. We did however appreciate Maddie in concession. She at least was a sweet kind girl.

I've played this course for over 15 years. Today was my first round of this season at this course and the price paired with the condition is pretty disappointing. This is one of my favorite courses in the area and has always seemed to be in good condition. Disappointed with it as of May 2025. $73 is absurd for the fairways and tee boxes. Greens were in good shape, though.

3 years ago, I played this course once or twice a week. The staff was always nice and accommodating. Greens fees have always been a bit high for the quality of course, but it is a bit out of the way and not as busy as other courses in the area. It was worth it for that. The last three experiences I've had here, have really made it clear that they don't really have any attention to detail or prioritize customer service. It started with a round I played about 8 months ago. The greens were in pretty rough shape from the amount of unrepaired ball marks, and I picked up a handful of beer cans out…

Invited by some friends for a friendly 9 hole match today. 48 bucks on a weekday morning for 9 is wild. The course was in ok shape. But no where near worth the price to play here. 5 stars for friendly staff and a nice clubhouse but until pricing gets back to reasonable I won't be back.
