In summary

Cedar Glen Golf Club receives praise for its challenging and well-designed course layout, with many golfers appreciating the condition of the greens and the friendly, accommodating staff. Under new management, the course is undergoing improvements, though some visitors note that the fairways and tee boxes still require attention, and there are currently no food or alcoholic beverages available due to pending licensing. While some customers have had negative experiences with specific staff members and course conditions, others are optimistic about the ongoing restoration efforts and the potential for future enhancements.

So glad that I booked the tee time at Cedar Glen Golf Course the last moment, otherwise I would miss my opportunity to enjoy my first golf game in Detroit, and an amazing one. Basically everything here at Cedar Glen Golf Course is on point. Yes, people have been telling me the lake causes the humidity, but I would say this course takes good advantage of it First of all, the most noticeable thing here is the greens, OMG, almost the green of each hole can be the posters on the Internet. Not just the trees and surroundings, but the architecture of the greens, the curves that pave out the lines…

Really disappointed. It was my first time there and excited to shoot a new course. Looks nice when you pull in but the course was in rough shape. The fairways were rough and the bunkers were not sand. They were grass, weeds, leaves and dirt patches. Very disappointed.

The fairways are not cleaned off and have zero grass. It was like hitting off concrete. Greens have big dead patches. Tee boxes are too close to each other and torn up. Not sure what renovations are happening because I sure didn’t see any and will probably never go back to find out. Hope this course can turn it around because it could be decent.

This course has potential, but it’s going to take time and consistent maintenance to bring it back to where it should be. I’ve played here twice—once last year under the previous ownership, and again last week—and while I’ve noticed improvements, there’s still a long road ahead to undo years of neglect. The greens are in nice shape overall and roll well with only a few minor issues, but the fairways and especially the tee boxes are extremely hard. Breaking a tee on nearly every hole is a guarantee, which takes away from the playing experience a bit when your tee is leaving white marks on your…

Went to play 18 today, walked in and was told walking only. no cart for bag a 4 dollar discount and absolutely no reason it could have been cart path only. Probably won't ever be back. if you are worried about people not staying on the path then get someone out there. Total BS

⭐ 1/5 “AC” was an extremely hostile cashier/employee, which set a negative tone right away. The greens themselves were nice, but the golf carts were terrible— ⭐ 1/5 quality. Our cart’s belt broke on hole 2, and despite calling, no one answered the phone for 45 minutes. By the time a replacement cart arrived, we were stuck behind a league. To be fair, the rest of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. However, the experience with AC overshadowed everything. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I’m not willing to gamble my time or money here again.

I was disappointed with my experience at Cedar Glen under its new management. I tried to redeem a gift certificate for a free round of golf, won at a cancer fundraiser, which was still valid. The manager, AC, informed me they wouldn’t honor it due to the ownership change. While he offered a discounted rate, his agitation and dismissive attitude left a poor impression. Honoring valid certificates would show better customer service and respect for the community. I won’t be returning.

Always a fun little course. Chad does a phenomenal job with leagues. Always so easy to deal with and does his best to accommodate all requests. Will definitely be back next year!

Giving 5 stars for effort. Course needs work but improving consistently. Greens are great ,they are letting the bunkers grow over so they should look good next year.I walk in the morning before work and the grounds crew are awesome and polite.new management seems dedicated.be nice if it stays going and doesn't turn into more homes nobody wants around here. Play it please enjoy it is a demanding yet fair track.

First time course player… The course layout is surprisingly challenging, yet playable for this 90’s golfer, with mature trees and water strategically placed throughout. The new owners will need a season to work on some previously neglected maintenance (a few worn patches, tree trimming, and reset of the bunkers) but they have the greens in fantastic shape! The new crew is very guest friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be adding Cedar Glen into my regular play schedule going forward! John (Rochester)

I recently played a round at Cedar Glen and was pleasantly surprised by the improvements under the new ownership! So much so that I chose to join a league. The course conditions have clearly seen a lot of attention; the fairways were well maintained and the greens were a lot better than previous years. The tee boxes have seen a lot of effort! It's evident they're investing in bringing this course back to its full potential. One thing to be aware of is that they're currently unable to offer food or alcoholic beverages. I spoke with the staff, and it sounds like their liquor license is still be…

Cedar Glenn distinguishes itself as an outstanding course, not only due to its demanding layout but also because of its unwavering dedication to delivering an enriching experience for golfers of all abilities. The carefully tended greens and fairways ensure a consistently superior playing surface, while the thoughtful placement of obstacles guarantees that each game presents a new array of challenges. In addition to the course itself, the inviting ambiance and well-equipped amenities foster a sense of community and fellowship among golfers. Ac's standing as a superb trainer is rooted in a wea…
