In summary

Colonial Charters Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability and friendly staff, with some visitors enjoying the course's challenging layout and good value for money. However, opinions on course conditions are mixed, with several reviews highlighting issues with the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, which some find in need of improvement. The course's proximity to residential areas is noted, and while some find it adds charm, others mention noise and tight spaces as drawbacks.

Not bad overall. Good staff. Good greens. Fairways are mostly good but definitely some bad bare spots in them. Priced well for what you get. Not a memorable layout. Very small greens like mountain courses. Basic neighborhood beach golf.

The course layout is nice... however the tee boxes, fairways and greens are in terrible condition. There's nothing "green" about the greens. It's a shame that they actually charge full price to play. I'm happy I'm not a member there, I'd hate to pay for a membership and have an awful course to pay on everyday.

My family and I enjoyed our round of golf at Colonial Charters Golf Club. We showed up as a very mixed group consisting of my 91 yo father-in-law, a sister-in-law, brother and myself. I asked the starter about finding a good gap to place us where we wouldn’t slow down anyone’s pace of play. Everything worked out and we finished 18 holes in less than four hours. The golf course was in great shape and provided some nice challenges during the round. I read an earlier review about the lack of directional signage but I found plenty of signs that guided us throughout the afternoon. I was especially…

Golf course was decent. Nicer ones are around the area but you will definitely pay alot more for them. Greens were pretty rough and the course is surrounded by town homes and apartments so definitely little noisy.

Course is in very rough shape. Tee boxes without grass, fairways without grass. Greens are in rough shape and do not roll well at all. Cheaper green fees than others but course has seen some better days.

It's not a top-tier course, but a great course none the less. Fairly priced with the Prime Time card $35.60 after tax. It's in good shape and has some challenging holes. It's probably one of the best, if not the best, bang for your buck budget courses at Myrtle Beach. The rate of play was under 4 hours and it wasn't too crowded. I highly recommend playing this course if you want a nice smooth day away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and the rest of the founders courses.

Excellent greeting by the gentlemen upfront took our bags right away and got us set up immediately and was actually very funny too. Great great course for the money especially. I would play over and over and over. This course is definitely do-able for the 20+ handicappers even higher. It’s a lot of fun. It’s not to hard. But parts of it can be very challenging.

I thought this place was a dump! What a terrible golf course for $67. Fairway sucked grains were OK at best. Kind of an arrogant pro in the clubhouse. Other than that it was lol

Maybe worst course I’ve played in myrtle area been playing for 3 years never seen a course so hard was like hitting off concrete, no possibility to get loft on ball. Horrific staff had a group of 8 waiting on the foursome ahead of us and the very uneducated ranger made us skip a hole and go around the foursome. Very unprofessional then sets us behind another foursome and had to play with them. The front 9 with 8 players took 2 hrs the back 9 with 4 took 3 and a half from waiting and then having to drive back to hole 12 to finish after complaining we weren’t paying full price for for 17 holes o…

Very nice short course. Extremely friendly staff. The cart path needs an update.

$20 bucks (afternoon) for 18 challenging and creative holes. Lots of water. Fairways were in good condition, greens were solid. Homes are very close to the course so be warned. I liked it though, sometimes I had an audience at the tee or green. Easily the best course dollar for dollar I've played. Note: no driving range. Will be returning.

Hasn't improved since last year at this time but the neighborhood was festive.
