In summary

Dunmaglas Golf Course is praised for its challenging layout, stunning views, and well-maintained greens, making it a hidden gem for avid golfers seeking a picturesque and demanding round. However, visitors frequently mention the lack of amenities, outdated facilities, and inconsistent management, which can detract from the overall experience. While the course itself is highly regarded, some guests note issues with service and value for money, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.

This course is not for the faint of heart or beginners or duffers - it is long and challenging! The ratings categories really aren’t for a golf course but as one I would give it 5-stars. It is well-kept with beautiful views. If only playing 9 holes don’t take their suggestion to cut over from 4 to 14. Play the original 9 and drive the rest back to see the course.

This is a beautiful course and so much fun! The rates were great, especially when you consider the prices in Charlevoix! You won’t have lunch at the turn or cart service like some courses, but the golf is five stars! Can’t wait to visit again!!

Perfect location for a round of golf. Course is well maintained, fairways are in great shape, nice primary rough outlines each hole. Greens are tricky with subtle breaks. We will be back! Surprised by the few negative reviews.

awesome north michigan course. Great layout and the villas were decent as well. Buy your booze before the turn, you won't see the club house till 18 again

Made our tee time on-line. Had to cancel and called course to do so. They issued cancellation and I received an email confirming the cancellation. No credit issued to our card for a week, Called course again and was informed they cannot cancel reservations and have been "trained" never to do so. He also said I could not have called the course even though I told him the time and date of the call from "recents" on my phone, I spent 30 minutes on the phone resolving the issue. The person I spoke to at Dunmaglas was rude and abrupt and just told me to call Golf Now. Terrible experience and will ne…

It’s wild to me that this place is so unknown. Have taken two fantastic trips to northern Michigan to play golf and played Dunmaglas both times. It has been - by far - the least expensive course on each trip but still been so much fun to play. It’s definitely “target golf,” but it does it very well while providing a very fun landscape for it.

The course is amazing, it's definitely seen better days and the place seems understaffed but the experience was awesome. Such a good layout, it's difficult with some truly great holes. Number 7 might be my favorite of all time. Paolo is a great dude! Very welcoming, friendly, and funny. Just don't go here expecting a five star clubhouse or even a drink cart. We paid 75 each for the round and that was spot on. With a few basic improvements this place would be one of the top courses in the state. Just set your expectations appropriately when you pull up and you'll have a great time.

Management here isn’t the best but the course views are amazing. We waited for an 8:20 tee time until well after 8:40, kind of a wild ride getting to our first tee. The course is up and down, but you won’t regret the views.

Don’t get me wrong. The course is beautiful. Probably 4 holes that provide an immaculate view. However, when we arrived, it seemed like chaos. We made these reservations months ago so they knew we were coming. They only had one man working, we felt horrible for the poor guy. It took forever to pay, he had to go out halfway through to get the carts ready and clean them. Then there is no break after the first 9. On top of that, there is NO CART GIRL! You have to make sure that you have everything before set off into the course. Ultimately, the price that you are paying for this course is OUTRAG…

The carts are older than the course but they ran great. Course was in great shape. Every hole was unique, challenging and fun. Awesome views. Expect to shoot a few strokes higher than your handicap.

Golf course was spectacular and challenging. Greens, excellent and fast. The terrain on the 500 acre course is second to few. The only thing lacking was amenities and extras. Carts are older, but they still work good.

This is a very challenging and picturesque golf course. The conditions were good and the staff was very friendly. I’ve played many high end resort golf courses in Northern Michigan and honestly this is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a laid back atmosphere with all of the terrain of Treetops or Boyne without the crowds then this is definitely worth playing.
