In summary

Gleneagle Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for some golfers. However, there are recurring concerns about the course's condition, particularly the sand traps and cart paths, as well as issues with signage and pace of play. Some visitors also feel the pricing is not justified by the current state of the facilities.

As long as you have the right expectations before you arrive, this is a nice golf course. This won't be featured on the front of any golf magazines, but this is course is great value. Staff always works hard to get you on the course whenever possible

Overbooked and overpriced, played 18 and at the turn they added two groups between us and the group ahead. The course doesnt make any sense. The tee boxes are not great. Would recommend literally any other course in the area.

Golf course was nice, but lots of houses. Had our company party there. And the club house we were in Stone. Collect mold and water.

Went here for a fundraiser to help kill cancer. This is a real nice course. Lots of water and sand. This can be a technical course. I will play here again I'm sure.

While the staff provided excellent service, the course conditions were less than ideal. For those seeking pristine courses in Michigan, this particular venue may not be the best choice. The layout presents a significant challenge, with houses and roads bordering nearly every fairway, offering minimal margin for error, which could be seen as a favorable alternative to a lengthy conference call.

This course is well maintained, with the fairways and greens being in great condition. The staff is super friendly and organized. I’m happy to be a member!

A golf ball from this course came flying out onto 44th street, hit my windshield, and shattered it. When my husband called to let them know and give them the opportunity to rectify this, the staff and manager were extremely rude to him. The manager even belligerently let him know that this was a recurring issue. They scoffed at the idea of doing anything to mitigate this, even though they obviously know it's a problem. This business is KNOWINGLY causing personal property damage ($500 deductible in our case) to the public and potentially causing larger accidents with their negligence. We filed…

Not kept up and fit $43 for seniors is a big ripoff. Played nicer courses for a lot less. Don’t bother playing this course.

I am responding to Brinslee Dykstra and her complaint about her car getting hit by a ball on 44th St. I am the manger you refer to 1. I explained to your husband that if this happens to ( a car - a condo - a window ) it is between the golfer and the person who's property was damaged. I was not rude per say, but your husband wouldn't take our explanation of how the situation is handled. I explained to him several times, i believe 5 times, and he still persisted and insisted that we cover your $500 deductible. 2. He told me that after your windshield was hit, you did not stop as soon as it was s…

Way overpriced for what they offer. Got lost more than once due to no signage where the next hole is, See this is most of everyone’s complaint. Know the family who developed this course back in the 70’s, it used to be a beautiful course. Totally ruined the lay out, money hungry corp who bought it from original developers!!! I will say worst & most expensive course to play in the greater Grand Rapids area. Wouldn’t play again if it were even free!

Paid mid-season rates for an early April round. Sand traps are essentially gravel + dirt with stones larger than your ball. Greens were in rough shape, which is expected in April - but again they're charging mid season rates. Cart paths are pretty bad in some locations, but staff did mention that is getting addressed. Staff was very friendly, but took 10 minutes and 2 computers to pay for my round. I typically play here a couple times a year for the last decade and really enjoy the layout and unique holes. This course has potential but needs A LOT of investment to validate the prices they char…

Slow play, tee times always 30 min delay. No ranger to keep play moving. Saturday it took 4 hours to play 11 holes. The course allowed a twosome to jump ahead of our group on hole 11. Then they were allowed to continue by management. After many years playing this course, we're done. Never again
