In summary

Ironwood Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained grounds, scenic setting, and excellent value, making it a popular choice in the Grand Rapids area. Many visitors appreciate the course's layout and the friendly atmosphere created by the family-owned operation. However, there are consistent criticisms regarding customer service, particularly related to the behavior of an older female staff member at the front desk, which some visitors find off-putting and unwelcoming.

This golf course sucked like it’s actually bad. The golf course had lots of holes in the green . Really crappy tee boxes and lots of dead grass and holes in it too. The lawn keeper guy crashed out on us for finding our ball in the woods after a bad hit. Then proceeded to yell in my buddies back swing. And that’s not even the worst part the front desk lady was by far the worst. She is so cranky rude, and disrespectful. We walked in and I tried to be nice and she had the audacity to tell me to shut up mid sentence I was absolutely vexed but she continued to be a jerk. She yelled at me and my bud…

This course may be the best value in all of the Grand Rapids area. Excellent staff had things moving along and made sure every one was taken care of. Course conditions totally exceeded expectations. From tee to green the course was pristine. Greens roll smooth and fast. You will not be disappointed. Oh and it was only $39👍

This is a great course. We bid on some passes at auction and won...happy we did. We will be coming back again for sure...:) Update...06.08.2019...just did a full 18 today with my wife...still as great as it was the first time. Will make this a yearly trip for sure.

Always a great experience! Love the family owned feel and how friendly they are. It feels good coming in every time. Can't beat the value, and it's just beautiful and serene.

This really is a hidden gem. Course is well maintained with nice green grass (even outside of the fairways). Not a terribly hard course, but it has enough challenges to keep it interesting. I do wish they had some sort of twilight golf (or anything after 6:30 pm).

Joy (we call her Betty) is just about the nastiest person you’ll ever encounter. She absolutely conveys that the whole idea that golfers should want to use “her” golf course is unacceptable & offensive to her in every way. Would be a great course if she were gone.

Very disappointing experience at Ironwood. The woman at the front counter was rude from the start and set the tone for the whole visit. We had our 7-year-old with us, who enjoys hitting a few balls here and there, but it hardly justifies paying a full green fee for a child. Instead of making us feel welcome, we were stalked by the course ranger the moment our son hit a ball off a tee, which made the entire outing uncomfortable and unpleasant. Golf is supposed to be enjoyable, but the way this course treats families is anything but. Definitely not a place we’ll be returning to.

Extremely rude older female who answers the phone ruins the experience! Nice course for a really good value, but so disappointed with the way I was talked to when trying to book a tee time! I called back to cancel the reservation because of the way I was talked to. She told me very rudely that she did not hang up on me and then she proceeded to hang up on me. Will never go back to this course!

Course was very well maintained. I am concerned about the older lady and how she dealt with us as customers. She actually came out on the course and in a very frustrated voice told us to move along faster based on complaints from golfers behind us. I have always allowed golfers to golf through if they needed to do so. No one was waiting very long behind us! The lady behind the counter seemed to be upset and needs to deal in the appropriate manner with customers who are paying for a great time on the course!

The quality of this golf course is absolutely outstanding. Greens are fast and true, fairways are outstanding (green and thick), roughs are thick but can be played out of. You will be amazed at the owners commitment to not only the quality of the course but of the flora and fauna as well. The course is a bit shorter than most but you still have to hit quality golf shots to score well. Can’t recommend this course highly enough

Would give no stars the lady that works the front desk is very rude. Every time I call and she hangs up the phone before I even do can’t answer simple questions. Seems like she wants no one playing at her course brings down the mood there..
