What People Say

In summary

Hidden Cypress Golf Club at Sun City Hilton Head is generally well-regarded for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and comprehensive practice facilities, including a driving range and putting greens. The club also receives praise for its dining options and friendly community atmosphere. However, some visitors have raised concerns about inconsistent customer service, slow pace of play, and limited water availability on the course.

Golf course was in good shape and player friendly. Enjoyed the course and the staff was nice. It was my first time there so I'm not sure if I misunderstood or not but if you are wanting a quick drink/snack on the turn they don't have any so take your own. Also the water on the course don't have cups so on a hot afternoon round it can be very tough.

Just moved into the area, was very happy with the course. Wide fairways = some bare spots, challenging greens - some smaller. Staff is good but can see how some would have attitude. Not a walk-able course (unfortunately). They do need water on the course - they do have at bathroom facilities but it didn't work. Play was very slow on the front and opened up as some groups dropped off. A ranger could have helped speed up the slow group. Price was decent as a resident.

Well we recently moved to Sun City Hilton Head. Got to play Hidden Cypress for the first time. Very Disappointed. I've been playing golf for 50 years, and probably played 50 different golf courses. Coming from Minnesota, where we usually get winter kill on the greens there. The greens at Hidden Cypress were WORSE than any winter kill i've played on. Not 1 green was in somewhat of a good condition, the fairways were much better at all. Paid almost 200$ for 2 people.

Excellent St Patrick's Day dinner here. One of the best Irish menus I've seen! Even got my wine tinted green! ☘️

I live in sun city, but have only played here once. It's an awesome course, and I had a blast. I usually go there to practice. They have everything you need... A putting green, chipping and sand trap green, and the driving range.

Worst golf experience playing golf in my life. Extremely discourteous when I called to find out the greens fees. Kept me waiting on the phone for over 10 minutes while the guy was having a conversation with some woman. When I arrived at the golf course there were 3 men at the bag drop off. None of them offered to help me with my or my wife’s golf bag. When I went in to pay my green fees the lady behind the counter didn’t know what she was doing. It took forever. When I finally paid my $217 I went out to the bag drop again to to show my receipt. The same 3 guys in yellow shirts were still there…

Probably the most pristine golf course I have played on in the low country. Greens perfect rolled great, fairway were smooth with lots of grass, tee boxes were spectacular. I can't wait to go back.

Nothing less than what you'd expect for the residents of Sun City by Del Webb. Visited the outdoor pool. It's clean and well maintained. Residents were friendly and sociable. Finished the afternoon with a delicious lunch at the clubhouse. We had shirmp tacos and hot pastrami & Swiss sandwich.

I did a takeout for my Thanksgiving dinner. The wait time was negligible. The reminder call from Robin was much appreciated. The food was delicious and I do not have any complaints, the whole experience was great!

A completely unforgettable experience, don’t ever make a tee time as a foursome they won’t care and send singles and doubles behind you to make sure you feel rushed every moment you play. Then tell you to pick up the pace. A piece of work truly.

Robin and her staff are top-notch professionals! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. This has been a favorite establishment for my father and me for many years!

I've been using the Fitness Center at Hidden Cypress since it opened in March 2005. Over the years, I work out there three to six times a week. The work-out equipment is first rate. They have ample numbers of eliptical cross trainers, tread mills, and stationary bykes. Plus a free weight room and Nautilus weight machines. The men's locker room and showers are clean and well taken care of. The spa-like out door pool and hot tub is a big favorite with all the members.
