In summary

Hill Country Golf Club is praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained course conditions, and friendly staff, with many golfers appreciating the challenging layout and the variety offered by its three 9-hole courses. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with management and operational issues, including inadequate communication during weather delays, limited amenities early in the morning, and inconsistent beverage cart service. Additionally, there have been concerns about rental equipment quality and unexpected charges.

There have been some ups and downs with this course over the last few years due to construction (which has nothing to do with the golf course just the resort) but things are really starting to look up. My husband and I were out yesterday and man was the course in great shape! We talked to some of the staff and they said they have a new super who really takes pride in his work and honestly it showed. While there is still construction going on, all of the course is back to working condition. The driving range is beautiful. The practice putting green gives you a level of difficulty to really get…

Showed up at 7:00am for our 8:00am tee time and paid $156.96 each expecting a true resort golf experience. At first, everything started great. Staff greeted us well, loaded our clubs, gave us range ball vouchers and starter tickets. No complaints there. Then reality hit. It’s 7:10am at a major Hyatt golf resort and there is absolutely NOTHING open until 10:00am. No coffee. No breakfast. No halfway house. Nothing. Honestly… how do you charge resort-level prices and not have a place open to grab a taco and a coffee before an early tee time? We tee off at 8:00am and by Hole 2 we get weathered…

The green condition is just so-so. The putting green was the worst. I rented golf clubs, but the driver was broken. Thank goodness I found it on the first hole. My husband and I clearly stated that we were playing with one rental club, and we were playing with the rental clubs. Then, another person came and saw it in the middle of the round and said we had to rent them separately, so we had to pay an additional $93. I was so upset.

Great staff. The fairways were in decent shape but the greens were really slow because they were aerated. That said Golf Now made no mention at all. Will definitely play again.

Just played at Hwatt this last Monday and had a wonderful experience. From the pro shop to the course everyone was professional and kind. The course was in great shape and greens are currently some of the best in the San Antonio area. Highly recommend this course.

The staff were courteous and friendly. However I was appalled at the course conditions given the $100+ price point. Greens and tee boxes were covered in dead spots and weeds. I am used to playing goat ranches but not for $100+...

You guys should be embarrassed inviting us paying guests to play here. My buddies and I have played this course several times over the years, like 30 times at least. The course is in the worst condition that it's ever been in! 3 temp tee boxes? 1 temp green? Shame on you guys for not letting the paying public know about the current conditions. You guys demand high dollar green fees and you do NOT inform us about these conditions?? You guys will have to send me a round for us after you guys get this course in order for us to return? Title your review Why? You guys are way better than this! 10/…

Played 8/20/22 HCP 2 Course is in really solid shape. Fairways are PURE! Greens are solid but they have a few dead spots, ground under repair, given the hot summer. Pace of play was excellent - 4 hrs on Saturday AM. Classic hill country layout, nothing too exciting but much better than a neighborhood course. Fun to play but challenging with woods lining both sides of every hole - would not recommend for beginners. I will be back!

Im from out of town and played golf here so I had to rent a set of clubs on the first tee I pulled out a 3 wood out of the rentals first shot the clubs head coming flying off the shaft so I went back to the starter and he said to continue to play and they will get with me after the round. So after the round I went up to the club house and the lady behind the counter said it will be $450 to replace the club, which you can buy that club new for $200-$250 and it was a adjustable head so just a shaft need to be replaced which you could replace the shaft for $100. Very poor ran place! Will not be b…

Nice golf course, friendly staff, course conditions acceptable during my visit. Some complementary, bag tag, free range balls, and free bottle of water. The golf cart GPS will help your game if first time playing there. Yes, it’s challenging golf course, sand, water, doglegs, trees are in play. If you like to complain or playing a blame game this is not a golf course for you. This golf course is designed for golfers who love and enjoy this game, and definitely recommended this golf course to everyone who complain-less and live to play more.
