Our local club was closed for a tournament so a group of us played at LaCantera. The staff was very friendly and the driving range and course were is great shape. Greens were at a decent speed. We wore shorts on February 15--whats not to like?

Mike Vardeman is a great instructor. He’s extremely patient, kind, and easy to understand, which made learning golf as a beginner feel approachable instead of overwhelming. He takes the time to explain things clearly and is always supportive and encouraging. I’ve felt very comfortable learning from him and would absolutely recommend him. 10/10.

A $30 charge to have a buddy to ride along with you (to keep you company) in the cart is WILD. You’re already paying $180 to play - includes the cart. I’m not sure why there’s a charge if you want to bring a friend/spouse to just ride along and watch. I rather play somewhere else that isn’t going to nickel and dime me. Bringing an extra person already guarantees more money on food/beverage/golf shop. Do better La Cantera!

This course is no where near worth the price point. I understand if they want to keep locals away to keep it available for resort guests. I played there on September 12. 200 dollars per person. I would say this is a decent 85-100 a round course. Played the tips. 16 tee box is bare. Marshal rode around all day stopping at our group each time to complain to us about slow play ahead of us but from what we could tell he did absolutely nothing about it. Maintenance personnel watering greens would wave you on but never move, them continued putting water on the green while we were putting. That was a…

Our recent visit to La Cantera Golf was beyond frustrating and extremely disappointing. The Marshall completely messed up our tee time despite us clearly stating that our reservation was at 8:10 AM, he had another group go ahead of us. When we tried to explain, he acted like he didn’t believe us and dismissed our concern altogether. To make matters worse, when I finally teed off and missed a shot, he sat in his cart making mocking faces completely uncalled for and unprofessional. His attitude was rushed and impatient, all because he made the mistake, yet somehow we were made to feel like we we…

The price of a round here does not match the atmosphere or the condition of the course. I’ve paid much less to play nicer courses. Felt let down

June 2025 - Wednesday played La Cantera Golf Club for a friend's birthday. Course is in immaculate condition. Not a bad lie on this course. Highly recommended and they have a great beverage special in the afternoon!

This facility used to host the PGA's Texas Open. The course is always in great shape and can be very challenging. There are some fairly extreme elevation changes and some blind tee shots. They used to have two courses, the Palmer course and the Resort course. I preferred the Palmer course, but it was sold around 2021. It was the more difficult of the two. Neither course is suitable for a leisurely walk, and carts are highly recommended. Expect heat and humidity. The range facility and service is top notch. Play your tee shot from the tips on the hole bordering Six Flags (#7) for the best view,…

Worst experience! Our family drove 8 hours to play golf only to be told at the time of check in that we could not bring our 1 year old on the golf course. That would have been nice to know before we spent thousands of dollars on a trip. Nowhere on their on website does it say anything about an age limit to be on the course. Not only that, the manager at the golf course was completely insincere about our situation.

This is one of classiest places I've ever seen. Everyone that works here treats you like royalty. The golf course is immaculate and the food is phenomenal.

Golf course is in great shape and was one of the more challenging courses i’ve played in Texas. Really enjoyed it. Nico in the pro shop and my starter Rex were awesome. Great staff and service.
