In summary

The Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas is appreciated for its challenging layout, scenic setting with abundant wildlife, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers in San Antonio. However, many visitors express disappointment with the high prices relative to the course's condition, citing issues with poorly maintained greens, inadequate amenities, and outdated carts. While some enjoy the overall experience, others feel the value does not match the cost, suggesting improvements in maintenance and amenities could enhance the experience.

Silverhorn is a solid choice for a round in San Antonio if you’re looking for a great layout at a fair price. The course design itself is challenging and fun, keeping you engaged from the first tee to the 18th green. The highlight for me was definitely the wildlife; seeing deer and turtles throughout the round added a nice touch of nature to the experience. That said, the course is currently in need of some TLC. If the maintenance team could tighten up the fairways and greens, this would easily be a top-tier spot. Overall, it's a good value for a public course, provided you aren't expectin…

Used to be one of my favorite golf courses in town. You can’t increase prices while simultaneously lowering the quality of the course. This wasn’t even the worst green. Some of them were 80% sand. I’ve seen significantly better quality from most of the municipal courses in town. Don’t waste your money.

The course was nice, but the carts, amenities, paths and staff were no where near the quality for the price point. The best thing about his course is that they are LOADED with deer and you get to watch them on the fairways and up close to the cart paths. $110 later and we got the worst experience of the 6 golf courses we played on our trip. No fill sand in the carts, no water or ice, no tees, no GPS or sound in the carts and the breaks and parking break dont work in the carts either. It is hard to justify paying premium prices for a not so premium golf experience.

I know April is early in the season. But no course should ever be charging $113 to play 18 with tee boxes and greens in such bad conditions. Half the holes you are putting on straight sand. On top of cheap broken carts (death wobble and reverse didn't work) I'll never be coming back, there's so many nicer courses for half the price.

The price was wildly high for having bad golf carts, no amenities, and active construction. The only redeeming factors were the greens and fairways are in decent condition. The course needs to cut its price down by half then maybe it would get a better review.

Rate 3 star because they had over water some areas and sanded the greens when we played. Other wise I may have rated it higher. Overall I really enjoyed the course. Even though in the heart of San Antonio, you feel like you out in the country with nothing around you. The fairways and greens are very nice, appropriately sized, and the course plays fair. I hope to come back and play around under normal conditions.

I expected more for Monday morning $82. Greens were shot up FULL of sand. No starter. No GPS on carts. Probably go somewhere else next time

I would caution spending $115 for the current condition. Some of the worst greens I have experienced. Plenty of other courses in the area that are in much better shape.

The amount of trash thought this course is crazy. I saw 3 maintenance crew driving around multiple times jist passing by scattered trash. It wouldve been a much better experience if the greens were better maintained and the trash wasn't everywhere. Amazing amount of wildlife. Great amount of difficulty but do able for golfers just learning. Hopefully I just caught it on a bad day.

Paid $115 for 10 am tee time. This course definitely not worth this price.. I would have given a 4 stars if price was $60. All the greens are very hard and some fairways are also very hard ...

Our team has hosted the charity golf tournaments at the Silverhorn Golf Club. I really can't say enough good things about Tiffany and Jedon at the club. Our team work hard but party of the success is due to the flexibility and kindness of these two people. They make our lives easier. Tiffany anticipates our needs which is awesome. And the course is lovely. Appropriately challenging. The renovations to the club house have given the atmosphere a good kick up. And everything is reasonably priced. That's why we keep coming back for our tournament.

Best public course in San Antonio. Fun layout, tight fairways, good conditions. Very friendly staff! The proshop also has the best merchandise!
