In summary

Northern Hills Golf Club is generally praised for its well-maintained greens and fairways, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice among golfers. The course is noted for its good condition despite recent weather challenges, and the customer service is often highlighted as excellent. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about ongoing construction impacting play, occasional safety issues during adverse weather, and the need for better communication regarding temporary course changes.

The course is in good shape. Fun track and has some challenging holes. Greens usually run a lot faster but were slow today. I’m guessing they are still recovering from the freeze a couple of weeks ago. Good course for the price.

We have played this course three times in the past three weeks. With the rain we got last weekend the course is greening up nicely. We forgot a cooler bag in our cart and didn't miss it until we got home. Someone from the course called me and told me they had found the bag and we could pick it up. Really who would have expected that level of service. This course is well worth the visit.

The front 9 was in great shape, but the back is a construction site and all tee boxes are moved up 100 yards. I would’ve appreciated knowing that before the round and given a discounted rate. I think it’s wild to charge full price when the course is playing 1/2 of what it should be. I know this is temporary as they are working on paths and tee boxes, that’s a great thing! My problem was that should’ve been communicated before I paid or at least some sort of discount until the work is done. Starter and staff were friendly though, I appreciated that.

Great course for an everyday golfer. I had a free round with my Alamo Trails golf pass so I'm not sure what the cost was. There is construction on a few holes, but they did an excellent job of not letting it affect the course much. Greens are challenging, but in good shape. Fairways are narrow on several holes, with a lot of houses. Not many hazards, water only comes into play on a couple holes. Customer service was excellent, and deserves 5 stars. I took one star off because the driving range is a hazard. Balls flying all around, the cart girl got hit, and my playing partner said it happens a…

Course was in great shape. Only concern is safety with no siren or alarm with lightning for over an hour within 1-3 miles with continued rain and thunderstorms on the radar. We stopped after 8 holes when the pro shop said play at your own peril. Disappointed we could not get a 9 hole rain check or credit to our account. With technology these days, that should be an easy solution for those on the ACGT membership... other than that--very happy with the trail and all the progress at the courses. Dave A

Greens are in good shape. Fairways on the front 9 are pretty nice. The construction is appreciated to make the course better in the future but they were saw cutting concrete all day, extremely loud, dust everywhere. We were covered in concrete dust, cutting right next to some of the greens. Pace of play was extremely slow, we were a full hour behind pace, long waits on tee boxes. Not a bad course by any means but maybe close for the day if you're doing certain types of construction or at least pause while players are around is so they don't get caked in concrete dust and cough all around the g…

We played the front 9 only but had a great time. The course is well maintained, and the fairways are in great shape. The greens are fast and undulating so speed is tough to get right. Price is very reasonable. Definitely would play there again.

Good pro shop staff and friendly starter. Greens and carts in good shape. Lots of ruts made by service vehicles along cart paths. Several tee boxes need work. #12 and #14 tee boxes needs to be flattened. Would be great if these were corrected for spring golf.

The Course is in very nice condition, overall. Enjoyed playing. Would have liked it better had we been informed that the back 9 is under renovations (tee boxes). Marking the temporary tees could be better.

This was my first time playing this course out of the all the Alamo City Golf Trails courses, and I would have to rank this one #1 for me. The fairways and greens were well taken care of! I also didn’t know there was a driving range on-site otherwise I would have shown up earlier to hit some balls! Great golf course and I will definitely be back!

Course was in fair shape, greens pretty good. Several holes were cartpath only which is a problem for handicapped players. When they put GPS on all carts the Alamo Golf Trail stopped making accommodations for handicapped players. In violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I do not walk fast due to a disability and the course kept jumping on my group to pick up play. Not appreciated.

actually 3 1/2 stars - the greens were in great shape, The course was a mud puddle in areas - totally over watered. My shoes have never been so muddy on any course - especially since we haven't had rain. Sand traps were wet sand & some had puddles of water. Some tee boxes are soggy. I like the course design but it's "ALWAYS" over watered. The course was even being watered after several golfers had already teed off. Always had to clean the mud off my ball. This is the only Alamo Trail course that has this problem
