In summary

Brackenridge Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, historic charm, and friendly, accommodating staff. Many visitors appreciate the course's layout and the overall golfing experience it offers. However, some golfers have noted issues with fairway conditions, particularly areas with dirt and hard ground, and occasional slow pace of play during busy times.

Course in good shape, It would be great, great if you could make the fairways as lush as the TEE BOXES. A little tough down the middle of the fairway and no grass to speak of, either hard pan or green mud.......still shot 78 with the help of winter rules IF in the fairway. Very windy, but always nice to play 2 rounds 1 after the other. Oh yeah, 80 on 2nd round, little tired at 73yrs old.

Let’s stay on top of the maintenance. Several fairways were just dirt on either the entire left side OR right side. More fairways need to be Cart Path Path only. Way too much cart traffic. More people need to walk. The photo enclosed (14) looks like it’s on the way to being dirt only. Olmos greens are starting to look like Willow which FINALLY got closed. TODAY, 4/18/25, out of town family member paid $87 for terrible green and fairway conditions. This course even when conditions were good/ fair never merited top tier of fees. The ONLY decent course right now is Cedar Creek. Apparently, a…

Okay went here with friends to see them play and just to half out with them (not to play myself) but even if i wasent playing I had such a good time. When the weather is right I would love to just sit and lay in the grass i’m not even kidding it’s so pretty and the walking isn’t even that of a pain because with good company an entire afternoon can pass by so fast. Will definitely love coming again and fully recommend anyone wanting to play in a corse to come try this one out if given the chance!!

Golf course in the best shape that I’ve seen it since coming here to play. Greens are really good shape since the very first time I played here you could actually see the line and make a good putt and it was true. Get out and play before it really gets cold.

I love playing all the courses on the Alamo City Golf Trail. The quality and maintenance of these courses are unrivaled by any other municipal course I’ve played. For the value and as a level one member, there isn’t another course in San Antonio I need to play. One hiccup that needs to be addressed is the online payment system. I attempted to renew my membership twice and also reserve a tee time more than seven days in advance (with fee). My payment was not processed. I think it may be a website glitch. I ended up renewing my membership in person at the course clubhouse. Otherwise the trail is…

Very cool golf course right next to the zoo. Beautiful Old Gothic style club house. Just "snack grab and go" foods, so if you're hungry, eat before you get there. Lots of options very close by. Good overall experience 👍.

Love the history and a gem in the heart of San Antonio. It's cool to recall the Texas Open used to be played here as you make your way around the course. The course is nice and features some unique square greens you won't see elsewhere. However, some holes can be tight squeeze for high handicappers. Advice for others: Avoid the weekend if you can. On this particular weekend, they crammed the tee times together (5-minute intervals), and the pace of play suffered significantly. It took much longer than it should have. Not sure if this is the norm, but I'll likely find somewhere else to play if…

Fairly easy course with some trouble lurking on most holes, the only issue is the greens with many of the greens have burned out areas that are sanded over. For the price you can’t beat it. Hole #2 Par 3 from the tee and photo of the green with sand. Staff is way above average here compared to many other courses.

Condition of the course was good and pace of play was surprisingly good as well. Green speeds were much slower than I’m used to, but overall it was a good experience on an interesting, historical old track. Do let the yardage fool you, play from the back tees and it’s plenty challenging.
