I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course last weekend. I was in SA for a short while. Tried a city course but it was packed. Saw Republic had a deal starting at 11:00. As I walked in I saw the greens were sandy. I told myself that it wasn't a big deal because I really liked the fairways. I checked in and to my surprise as the young lady was about to take my cc the general manager came up and offered me the twilight rate. Good corse to play for any skill level. Staff is friendly. Fairways are well kept and maintained. Would be nice if the water hazards could have some water im them to tell them apart, but its texas. Price is can range but if u can take the sun, afternoons are the time to play. Really enjoyed and will play againg before leaving

Really a 3.5 star. But on the greens improvement/turn-around The Republic Golf Club get a solid 4 star. Many of us avoided playing at The Republic due to greens were not up to standard. That issue is no longer a problem. They have rebounded well. The course is back in shape to enjoy whether you play as a group or an individual. The Staff and facility are 5 star. The some tee boxes are being sodded, it is evident work is in progress to maintain this fun and challenging course. It should be 4.5 star worthy soon. IMJS!!! Bottomline; thumbs up!

I liked the layout and the holes where challenging. BUT the greens need time to mature they are being worked on looks like.The club has very limited food selection this was my first time to play this course and had a good time will go back again if the greens were in better shape I would give them a 4 star. Come out and play the course and support this gem in the rough.have fun and keep the ball in the fairway.

Very relaxing course to golf on the weekend.

Was here for Dave & Kev's golf tournament, awesome course and easy to get around. Nothing super hard on this course, only a few water elements off the tees but simple play. Well maintained greens but they can be quite fast! Clubhouse is nice as well and lots of stuff at the shop. Easy to have a fun day on the course here!

Beautiful Setting. My daughter and her wife were married and had their reception there. It was a beautiful setting and the reception was just as beautiful. All the guests were very happy with the room they were allowed. So impressed in fact we have had 1 other occasion there and they is a family wedding there in July. All because one wedding that was held there. The staff handling the catering was so on top of it and, while we didn't use them for the flowers, they allowed us in early enough that we were able to get all the arrangements in the reception area in place. Everything was pretty darn good. The front desk person was friendly and efficient. The cart was clean and fully charged and came with a score card. The beverage carry came by at least three times. The course was in great shape. The course surprise was mango scented iced towels at the turn and at hole 15. Refreshing on a hot Texas day. I shall return!

This is one the finest courses in the San Antonio area. Layout is great, scenery is beautiful. The greens are being worked on right now. You might want to give them a call before you head out just to check. The food is fantastic, I love the burgers. Management and customer service is superior at The Republic.

This course is great. If you have kids under 17, they can play at no additional cost with paid adult. During the summer, I took my 8yr old son out and played at least 1x weekly. The course has been well maintained even in the hot south texas summer. The greens on the front 9 are more challenging than the greens on the back. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. We were there enough that they knew our names and when I go back, they recognize me and call me by name. You cant get that level of service at a non-country club location.

I played this course in early August and everything about it was outstanding. I had a friend come to town to play golf this past weekend and because of my great experience earlier this month, made a tee time for yesterday. I was sorely disappointed to find they had not just done their greens maintenance but it was a very deep, severe punching and sanding. I would estimate they had removed half the grass on all the greens a replaced it with sand. The greens were unplayable, from fast greens in early August to slow and extremely bumpy yesterday. I doubt these greens recover to an acceptable play…

Played the Forest tees and boy what a challenge. Course is in great shape! Rough was fair for us C fighters. Greens pretty quick with lots if undulations. I recommend this course to all my fellow aspiring amateurs out there!
