In summary

Hunters Ridge Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained conditions, challenging links-style layout, and friendly staff, offering a unique "up-north" feel close to Metro Detroit. The rustic clubhouse and excellent amenities, including a food truck, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play and management decisions, and a few have expressed concerns about pricing relative to the course's offerings.

Played 9 holes here and was shocked at the price. $62 for 9 holes is extremely hard to justify for what is, at the end of the day, a decent public course. The course conditions were fine, but nowhere near the level you’d expect for that kind of pricing. For comparison, many solid courses in Michigan charge less for a full 18-hole round with a cart. It honestly felt like resort pricing without the resort experience. Staff was okay and the layout is decent, but the value just isn’t there. I don’t mind paying premium prices for a premium experience — this wasn’t that.

First time playing here. Saw this course listed on Group Golfer and decided of buy two rounds. It was about 2 hours and 15 minute drive up to the course which is really out in the middle of nowhere. A few of the staff referred to the course as their "hidden gem". The staff were exceptional, friendly and very informative as to the course rules and some of the tips for playing the course. The clubhouse is a log cabin. Very rustic on the inside and comfortable. They have a nice bar and lots of room for seating plus a deck and outside pavilion. The whole course was in excellent condition. The fair…

To put my review into one phrase: Exceptional golf experience. I had been recommended this course by multiple friends & I had also heard about it from the MDG group. It’s about an hour drive from the east side of Metro-Detroit but it was well worth the drive!! An up-north golf feel, every hole you feel like you’re at the British Open. The Tips are about 6500 yards, the bunkers are encompassed with beach-like sand, well taken care of. The tee boxes were very clean, fairways immaculate & greens played true to feel. Pretty fast but not pool table fast. Exceptional views as you wind through the r…

I don’t believe I’ve ever left a negative Google review in my life but this feels necessary. Was really excited to check out this “Hidden Gem” -as I’ve heard it referred to- and was rather disappointed. Overall course management and functionality was lacking. We had a tee time scheduled and arrived early. There were 2 other groups in addition to ours waiting at the starter. The starter asked everyone their tee time. We were up next but he let a group go ahead of us because he “assumed we would be slower with a kid”- even though our kid is just a rider and we play as a two some. We then proceed…

Absolute hidden gem. Beautiful, challenging, and well-maintained. Feels like you are up north. Definitely some tough approach shots with the links-style layout- lost a handful of strokes with near misses off the green that took a tough hop and jumped OB. But nonetheless an amazing experience. The gentleman working the pro shop was extremely kind and cheerful too, asking about my round at the turn and after 18. The lady working the bar was a pleasure as well. Overall great experience. Very glad I heard of this course and made the drive out. I will definitely be returning in the future.

First and foremost there is nothing wrong with the actual course, although it's a bit boring and a tad on the easier side. My problem lies with the owners and how they treat their customers. Rude, assertive, and extremely biased on anyone they perceive as "young". Have never been told at a golf course, even before stepping onto the actual course, that I " need to not dawdle and play and get off so others can". Staff is rude, pushy and if they don't want me to play, then come on out an say my business isn't wanted. DO NOT GOLF HUNTERS RIDGE!

Great course that kind of comes out of nowhere on that dirt road. The course was in really great shape. Be accurate or the long grass will make you pay. Carts have GPS tablets, which is convenient. Clubhouse has a cabin feel, which I loved. Pretty cool course.

The course is always in great condition. The course was busy, but there wasn't a lot of waiting. You can lose some balls if you spray it, but there is room to hit shots offline. It's a very enjoyable yet challenging course. They have a very friendly staff. No complaints.

This place…this place is where you want to be. It truly is a “Hidden Gem”, as the staff refer to it. Speaking of the staff, Erin was absolutely exceptional in her service, and went above and beyond to make my experience there fantastic. She definitely is a big part of why people come back there. Thank you, Erin! The greens were phenomenal, the rough was nice and trimmed. And the holes themselves were challenging yet, forgiving. New favorite course, 11/10 will recommend!!!

By far the best course in Livingston County. The course is exceptionally maintained . Greens are in perfect shape. Even the driving range is in top notch condition. They also offer amazing food from their food truck. I highly recommend playing Hunters Ridge. 10/10 overall experience!

A well maintained course. They have a ranger which is nice. When I played it was in the 50's and misty, kind of felt like golfing in Scotland with the links style they have going on. That being said, I felt this course to be very challenging and I did not play well. It's NOT an easy course. I'm also not the greatest golfer. If you're inexperienced, i'd suggest trying an easier course to warm up before this one. Don't let that discourage you though. I liked it a lot, and it does deserve a 5 star.
