In summary

Huron Meadows Metropark is praised for its well-maintained cross-country skiing trails, diverse hiking paths, and scenic natural setting, offering a variety of outdoor activities including golf, kayaking, and playgrounds for families. The golf course is noted for its challenging layout and good condition, although some visitors express concerns about the slow pace of play due to crowded tee times. Overall, the park provides a peaceful environment away from busier locations, though there are occasional issues with management responsiveness.

Lovely place for some cross country skiing. There's a good assortment of trails ranging from very easy to pretty technical. All the easy trails are groomed, and most of the technical ones are too, for skate and classic. There are a few longer trails that go through the woods which have proper hills, these will often be ungroomed until the first skiers make tracks. I highly recommend this place for some XC ski, it's a great place to enjoy nature in the winter.

This is a great park for families that don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of some of the more popular parks. There is plenty to do between all the hiking/cross country trails, the golf course, canoe/kayak access to the Huron River, and more. They do hold cross-country track meets on some of the trails.

A nicely maintained trail system to take a rustic hike on. The trail way is well marked. The meadows are beautiful and bursting with color.

Sunset ridge has a nice toddler friendly playground with restrooms nearby and plenty of shaded picnic tables. Bonus you can walk down some steps (or ramp) to a pretty natural lake. Cedar ridge playground was just a slide and a swingset and we didn’t get out of the car because there were so many flies!

*THIS REVIEW WOULD BE A 5/5 IF THE ISSUES WERE ADRESSED* This is a rating on the golf course, the course itself is great, it’s well maintained, the greens are nice and roll true, the tee boxes could use some work but there’s only so much you can do with the amount of people coming through that course, this course has very high potential but is cursed by bad management. Now all my complaints fall back completely on the management of the metroparks, this has nothing to do with the direct staff, this course is almost always slowwww, and I’m talking 20 minutes a hole, sitting on the tee boxes for…

Great course very challenging. Grass is very well maintained. Golf carts are nice and quiet but very agile. First time golfing here but plan on coming back. Friendly staff. Clean facilities.

We have been golfing here for over 25 years. Everything since covid, the golf course has been slammed and pace of play has been horrible. Typical times are 3 hours for 9 holes and over 5 hours for 18. I wish the rangers and staff would be more active on providing the loyal weekly golfers a more pleasant experience and helping move the pace of play. The pace of play definitely reduces the quality of the golf course and the real golfers experience. We hope changes can be made next year as this is our favorite course in se michigan. We dont want to find another golf course and begging for the sta…

Just a great golf course. Well kept greens, no dead spots on the fairways. Clean facilities, plenty of food and drink. Staff was nice. I bit slow but they make sure things are correct. Please make this one of your courses to play , you will enjoy it.

Awesome cross country skiing. Groomed for both skating and classic skiing, skate and classic ski rentals, and three snow guns that produce man-made snow for a lighted 2.5 km section of trail. The Frosty Fest (second weekend each January) has two ski races on the trails. Best XC skiing in southeast Michigan.

Small playground with lots of open space. Good trails for walking and enjoying nature. A great view of the water. Plenty of tables for a picnic.
