In summary

Kensington Metropark Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, scenic setting, and challenging layout, making it a favorite for many golfers in the area. The staff is generally noted as friendly and accommodating, with some positive experiences regarding customer service. However, there are recurring criticisms about slow pace of play, additional park entry fees, and dissatisfaction with the handling of rain checks and tee time management.

There's a shooting range directly across I-96 which gives the front nine more of an Apocalypse Now setting. Started on time, 9:44, with two groups on our fairway in front of us. Finished nine @ 12:43. We paid for 18, but we just left. We wanted to get home before 7pm. The park is beautiful. And HUGE. Well worth the $10 entry fee. Go to the park. Forget about going to the golf course.

This place is really a hidden gem. I do not play golf but this course makes me want to start. Plenty of great veiw to look at with the trees and water that lines the course. It is very well maintained and I feel it is a great experience. Will definitely be visiting again and will probably see me on the course too.

I’ve driven past this place on 96 a million times and finally decided to play a round here. It was in great shape and was a lovely fall setting. There were deer grazing through on several holes. Lots of blind shots over hills that were tough the first time playing. I’ll definitely put this course in my regular rotation.

Golfed here for my 1st today. To start they charge $10 just to get in the parking lot. Then paid the $42 weekday rate for 18 holes. Got to hole 7 and it rained for a max of 15 minutes. 5 minutes later the park ranger or whoever he is that works there. Came to use that everyone had to leave the course due the rain. (Sun is now shining with no chance of rain again) they would only refund for half the cost on a rain check. So only played 7 holes and got charged for 9 and a parking pass. We will never book a tee time here ever again! Absolutely ridiculous

Went here for XC ski. The rent process is pretty easy and smooth and there have lots of equipment and plenty of parking. Trails are nice (both grooved and freestyle) and some fun with some hills to fall (jk) or go thru the wood for different scenery and more natural feel

Absolutely awful experience for a course I’ve played many times. Pouring down rain today 15 minutes before our tee time, so we ask for a rain check, they deny us the rain check stating that they only do rain checks if they shut the entire course down (they should have). They also state that cancellations need to be made 24 hours prior to the round because we took up the tee time (we made the tee time within the last 16 hours so we weren’t really taking a tee time from anybody. Due to the rain pouring down for 2 straight hours, golfers throughout the front 9 are obviously taking breaks and taki…

Beautiful course but very rude worker in the shop who yelled at me because I asked if we were playing in the front or the back nine and claimed he called me three times to get started and literally told us once. Our tee time was 4:56 and came over to tell us to get started at 4:58. He literally yelled at me and said “chop chop!” Sent a group out ahead of us and no one was behind us for a while and then we had to wait anyways because there was a back up in front of us! So not understanding why I was yelled at horrible customer service! Pretty sure he was a manager too! Will not be returning! Li…

I really like this course. It's well maintained, good pace of play, the starter does his job, and I didn't see a single ranger. I knocked a star off simply because you have to pay admission to the park on top of the cost for the round.

Best value course in the area. Tee boxes and greens are actually in great shape. Make putting true but still a level of difficulty that comes with well paced greens. Cart girl came around 1x each 9, great to even have one at a Metro course. Friendly staff. $10 Entry fee to the park but it’s worth it because the golf course has great value. Just add it in to the cost of booking a tee time. Still worth it.

Well I have never played and never will! Forcing people to prepay online in order to SET a tee time is just stupid considering almost every body pays for themselves. I’ll gladly spend my money somewhere not so uptight and whiny.
