In summary

Keney Park Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and scenic setting, with recent renovations enhancing its classic design. The staff and amenities, including a popular restaurant, receive positive feedback. However, some visitors express frustration with the slow pace of play and occasional issues with course management, such as cart path restrictions and lack of ranger presence.

Keney Park Golf Course is one of Connecticut’s most unique municipal courses. The 18-hole layout—originally designed by Devereux Emmet in 1927 with the back nine added by Robert “Jack” Ross in 1930—is a blend of classic architecture and varied playing styles. The front is tight and precise, while the back is open and scenic. The 2016 renovations restored the course to its initial vision, while improving various aspects. Well-maintained today and worth the trip.

What a great track! Some tee boxes were a tiny bit beat up ( not as bad as I've seen by any means) but that is my only critique. Greens rolled beautifully but we're incredibly challenging with all of the undulations. Not long, looks wide open but if you miss a fairway you could roll into the woods very easily. Overall challenging target golf.

Great golf course, beautiful day, now if only I could have played better! A friend told me, "Be prepared to putt a lot." He was not joking. The undulating greens are challenging but fun. Really, the entire course is challenging yet playable. My drives were all over the place (left, right, and middle), yet most could be found and we're playable. There is a good chance I will make this my home course next season.

Absolutely a great course to play! The weather made it very wet for us but I imagine a great day would be amazing! The course management. Of tee times and pace of play was horrible. 5hr+ round and the carts being “cart path only and shutting off if you weren’t on the cart path was the most annoying part of the round It was very enjoyable but not with today’s pace of play. Walking 70 yards to a ball and having to walk back made us and other players have 5 teams on one par three…. Overall we’d come back on a different day and probably get a better experience but not today.

Really fun, hard course! Suggest getting t times way ahead of time & finding out when the tournaments are, it was super busy when we went. Highly recommend their tavern burger at the turn, delicious!

First time playing after hearing many people tell me to go there. I was very pleasantly surprised courses in very good shape. Very playable, exciting and challenging but not overpowering. The restaurant is fantastic, very pleasant staff and they go out of their way to help you with any questions you may have. They also have a gluten-free option if you need to have that

Big fan of this course. It plays a little short but I don't hit it very long so not a problem. Greens are in great shape and fun to play. Pace can be slow (2.5hrs for 9 on a Monday afternoon) especially when following the weekday leagues but I suppose that can be a problem anywhere. Greens fees are reasonable. Practice area is not bad either. Haven't had the food. Definitely recommend.

I think this course has potential because the actual course is manageable. A very good friend of mine and I golfed here today. 7/22/25. Our tee time was 11:03. We finished at 4:30 PM. It took us 5 and a 1/2 hours to golf 18 holes. It was absolutely excruciating, waiting every hole. When I say waiting every hole, I mean we literally waiting ten minutes between shot. The ranger came out once and just didn't drive by. I don't ever need to golf there again. If I could have gotten my money back, I would have taking it in a second.

Keney Park Golf Course is a very good layout. The greens are always in good shape and they roll well. Definitely a nice place to tee it up. 🏌️

A beautiful, very well kept course. The starter could use some training on his social skills, however. Had a 2:39 tee time with some buddies, our first time playing the course. We just got our cart at 2:35 and were finding our way around to the first tees. The starter comes out of the pro shop and rudely says "You guys are on the tee box like... now" at 2:37, minutes before our tee time. We get to the tee box and the group in front of us is still in the fairway, so the starter was rushing us for no reason. Maybe if he was at the starter booth like he should've been, he would've realized that t…

I wasn't there for golfing, but I have took a bunch of practice tee shots. This is a good location for getting some reps in and upgrading that swing.
