In summary

King Rail Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained fairways and greens, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice for golfers seeking a pleasant 9-hole experience. The course's layout is considered interesting and enjoyable, though some visitors have noted issues with course conditions during wet weather and the need for better communication about such conditions. Criticisms also include the lack of a permanent clubhouse and some negative interactions with staff, which detract from the overall experience for certain patrons.

incredibly nice and helpful staff they have there! course is maintained very well and layout is spot on if you’re looking for a nice 9 hole, tee times could be a tad further apart in my opinion maybe 13-16 min instead of 10

I don’t understand why people say this is an average course. It’s a shorter course, but this course is in great condition The rates here are really good and cheap. The clubhouse is really nice. The tea boxes are amazing. The fairways are amazing And the putting greens are great this is an overall great course And the people in the clubhouse are super helpful and nice

I’ve golfed here before and it’s not a bad place. But when I called today, they only take teetimes online. Not great for seniors who have trouble with the Internet and passwords, etc. The guy I talked to seemed like he was pissed that he had to pick up the phone. It’s gonna be hot today and I’m sure there’s nobody breaking down doors to get on there.

Avoid! The course conditions were awful and the rude ranger wouldn't even answer questions. Four greens had brown, dead spots on them and numerous fringes were brick hard. I lost a ball that bounced perfectly on the green (with a pro soft ball!) And bounced straight off and in the woods. The tee boxes are sloped and filled with crab grass and weeds. Fairways are ok. Couldn't hit from the back or middle tees on 8 due to a bee hive. Even Leo J Martin in Weston has green greens. Lynnfield should be ashamed of this course. They take in enough tax money to water grass. Decent layout but after spend…

Called and scheduled a tee time. Informed the person that we had a ride along. My disabled wife would ride in one cart. When we arrived we were told no we do not do that. We paid their rate. What a horrible rule. If you have a disabled person that needs to be with you while you play go to a different course. Felt like they have we no heart.

Nice course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in very good condition. Plenty challenging for the average golfer. Friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Nice little course. Staff was friendly and overall the course is pretty open. There's a couple drivable par 4's and a very short par 3 to end the round. Always have a good round there.

Regrettably, this is a bad review. Ordinarily, it's a nice 9-hole public course, nice layout, while not terribly long, there are shots you need to make. Greens well designed, maintained, but, my impression is there's no real upkeep, that it's still living off the time when it was Colonial. The problem I have is yesterday. Granted, the weather has been extremely rainy and some courses drain better than others and it did rain on Thursday. I expected some water yesterday, no doubt. But, I've played courses since Ida without issue and too much of this course was a quagmire. Standing water, that lo…

Overall course is in good condition considering our rains lately. Not a long course but interesting layout with soft slow undulating greens. Had a good time. Will look to play again soon. Driver stays in bag.

Fine place if you want a quick 9. Recently the course has been very wet. You will literally sink in certain areas leaving playable balls impossible to get to without risking a shoe. I have had a good experience with management, they are honest about the conditions.

Great course, played 9 holes for the first time and the fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Some drawbacks are that they don't take cash, its credit card only, and the tee boxes didn't have any markers (red, white, blue, etc) indicating where to tee off from. These are definitely not deal breakers as the course itself was great.

Do yourself a favor and just go to another course. We got there before our tee time(4 golfers) and immediately were being rushed and given a hard time. On the 5th hole we were told to pick up the pace by the ranger, mind you we finished all 9 holes in 1 hour and 55 minutes and kept the same pace. Did I get to enjoy a beverage? No. A cigar? No. Just go somewhere else and actually enjoy your time.
