Nice enough golf course, although showing effects of July heat. Pretty decent layout and a variety of wildlife around the course. Didn't even realize there was a lake there, even though I've played Dark Horse multiple times. Private course, but would still play if given the opportunity.

What a fun and challenging course, quite unique in it's sloping terrain, blind greens, hugh dropoffs and beautiful surroundings. I met someone there who said he had been golfing the course for twenty five years and had never once grown tired of it. I totally believe that. This is a gated, private community. I'm fortunate enough to have a friend who lives there. If you ever get the chance to enjoy a round at Lake of the Pines, go for it!

Excellent place to golf. It's very quiet. The community where the golf course is located on is private and has deer roaming the area frequently. The below image is a buck I ran into.

I had the chance to play this course yesterday with the Golfmoose Group, really enjoyed it. The course was way better than I expected, difficult if you haven't played it before but enjoyable. The people from the golf course that were running the event were very nice and helpful. The ladies at the snack bar were very nice and especially the lady running the snack cart, she was great. She came around many times making sure we had ice and drinks as it got really hot. I enjoy playing different courses and have had the opportunity to play a lot of private courses. Today at Lake of the Pines it was…

Okay I am a little bias when it comes to this playing here. It's the first place I played because I lived here most of my life. Golfing here is fun, hills that allow you to watch your ball drive through the hillside. A beautiful lake in the center, trees, and trees and more trees, making it challenging, yet charming and delightful.

The sports bar has my favorite lunch. Order the meat-free buffalo wings. Their cauliflower dipped in breading and deep-fried and tossed in Buffalo sauce. It's a appetizer, but it's definitely a lot of food and if eaten alone is plenty. the best meat item turned into a non-meat item I've ever had.
