In summary

Lake of the Woods Country Club is appreciated for its challenging course layout, reasonable pricing, and well-maintained greens, making it a popular choice for both experienced and beginner golfers. The club offers convenient amenities such as club rentals and a well-received restaurant, Fareways, known for its affordable menu. However, some visitors have reported negative experiences with staff interactions and inconsistent maintenance of fairways and tee boxes, which may affect the overall experience for some golfers.

Course is in descent shape for March, greens are challenging. Over all layout is fun holes mixed with a few tough holes.

Great layout, reasonably priced, same-day teetime availability. Sadly, the boxes and fairways are not well-maintained. The greens played well ... and fairly.

Excellent semi-private golf course for the money. Guests of Lake of the Woods can play unaccompanied by LOWA members. The bar/restaurant is called Fareways. I love this place. The prices were frozen at some point in the '80s. Check out the picture of the menu. You can rent golf clubs for $20 and play 18 holes for $55 including the cart. Kids 18 and under play free. You can also rent clubs for kids for free if they have availability. I don't know anything like that in year 2022.

after Yesterdays experience i will never golf here again the staff is atrocious The old lady behind the counter needs to just retire and let people play golf . Which sucks because the course is well kept and super nice .

This course is a polished gem. Very tight too. If you slice you’ll hit a house!

I have played here for years. It used to be the most inviting atmosphere in the area, true southern hospitality.... Today's experience will make me think twice about ever coming back. As i stand in 16 fw, starter comes out of nowhere flying up behind me in a cart, yelling and screaming at me and my partner to stop playing. It was 6:20 PM (we teed at 240 and proceeded to sit behind a hacker foursome ahead of a tournament...so it was slow play all day). I hit my shot while this crazy person carried on behind me. After my shot the kid yells at me to get off the course. "You are supposed to have…

Very rude staff who continued to approach us on the course just to argue and again in the parking lot preventing us from leaving. Worst golfing experience i have ever had at the complete fault of the staff especially Carolyn. Avoid this course unless you would like to deal with rude staff, be interrupted during your round, and play at a entirely overbooked course

I played the front 9 at the course before it started to get cloudy and they called us in for weather. I received a rain check for the back 9. Upon trying to use the rain check they said I could only do the front 9, not the back 9. If I wanted to do the back 9 I would have to book another 18 which I couldn't use the rain check for. The front 9 of the course was in bad condition when I played it so I was hoping the back 9 was better. I have been working on going to all the golf courses in the area and the conditions and hospitality at this course is by far the worst in the area.

Patrick behind the counter is great. Knowledgeable and friendly and one of the quickest re-grippers I've ever seen. Love the course layout, but watch your ball flight closely, the leaves can make it tough during the fall and winter months!

A very enjoyable neighborhood woods course to play. Great value for the price they charge for the general public to play. The course is kept in good condition and is neither too easy for advanced players nor too difficult for beginners. Glad it is open to the public. The food is also very good and well-priced. I will be back.

Play often the course is in excellent shape, and the 19th hole is very comfortable people are friendly. Price reasonable. One of the few courses that have the ball/ club bucket cleaners on each golf cart, very nice to have.

Pace of play for a Sunday was amazing. If your adverse to terrain this is not your course, uphill, downhill, all kinds of hills, greens all slightly elevated, small and in great shape. Fairways had some spots but not to bad, tee boxes were ok, traps were very nice. Not the longest.. If you fear houses near the holes / fairways, again not your course.. pretty tight in that regard although fairways are not all that skinny.. Not overly expensive and I'll go back.
