In summary

Somerset Farms Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting, challenging layout, and friendly staff, offering a good value for the price. Many visitors note that while the fairways are generally well-maintained, the greens and tee boxes often require improvement, with issues such as crabgrass and hard surfaces being common concerns. The lack of amenities like a driving range and snack bar is also mentioned, though the course's peaceful atmosphere and potential for improvement are highlighted.

Beautiful course for the price. Only issue, greens are in rough shape, besides the 18th which was beautiful.. Believe they are working on them, hopefully by next year they'll be in better shape. Rough grass can be hard to hit out of, fairways were in beautiful shape. Tough course to hit for sure, only par'd 2 times.. Bar inside clubhouse is beautiful, but not in service, why, have no idea. CC has much potential, hoping they'll get more business to utilize everything they have on site.

Good course and challenging too. First time playing it and with the lack of rain the fairways were insanely fast. The greens were fast and bumpy as they had just aerated them . I know they can't control the leaves but that was a bit problematic finding our balls on occasion. It was nearly empty so I can kind of understand why the snack bar wasn't open. However, a glizzy and a drink at the turn would be nice. I'll definitely come back.

Great place to golf. No driving range or putting green. So be ready. Friendly staff and beautiful scenery. $45 for 18 holes and cart.

Challenging course in good condition. Very scenic, rolling hills and the Rapidan River along several holes. Staff is super-friendly. This is very much a "placement" course, good shots reward, bad shots can be easily result in double bogey. When it is dry the ball carries far and the greens are fast. There are several really fun holes, and a few very challenging holes. No snack bar, no driving range, so be prepared and bring what you need. Usually not terribly busy, so the pace of play is very good.

The shape of the greens are the worst I ever played, and be prepared to bring a small hammer to place your tee in ground. Ànd not to mention no senior rates or veterans.

Fun course, competitive rates, friendly staff, worst greens I’ve ever played.

Use to love playing here. Price was great but not for crabgrass taking over greens.

Beautiful water.. A lot of space to fish...I needed to get away and clear mind. Thanks to my best friend Melissa Simpson...thanks for helping me clear my mind...taking me somewhere where its quiet...alone...thanks for that peace of mind.

Just played this course and had to redo my review from before. This course is in great shape for January. They have all new carts as well. The young man that works there has always been great to us. We travel from King George to play this course often and it's worth the drive. I see a lot of negative reviews on here that are not true to say the least. Great course and great people! You will always have my business!

I was just out there at the golf course yesterday and took my son who is a junior golfer and let me tell you the customer service the great people that I met was phenomenal. My son had a blast the course is in pretty good shape the greens are starting to come in not a super long course but definitely can be challenging. We got lucky going out there on a Tuesday because the course was wide open and that really benefited my son who was on spring break and we were able to just go out take our timesand play the course. Thank you Rapidan golf we look forward to seeing you again very soon. Phil

I played this golf course today (for the first time) and the course is in excellent condition. I saw the work the owners are putting into the course. The tee boxes were in good condition and the fairways were well kept. I cannot wait to see the results of the work in the summer. This golf course is a hidden gem nestled in a nice neighborhood community.

1 course still needs work, especially with crab grass in greens #8 green, #10 green and a couple others have some pretty bad burned areas but otherwise the greens were receptive to approach shots and rolled nicely. fairways were very playable, no complaints. tee boxes could stand work but were playable bunkers, after such a wet year and Covid 19 get a pass for now. was a very satisfying round and the price was more than fair for a Sunday morning. If you have not played here, give it try, it offers a great array of challenges without being overly punishing.
