In summary

Lakeshore Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic beauty, affordable rates, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for beginners and those seeking a relaxed golfing experience. The course's layout offers a variety of challenges, though it is noted for having some maintenance issues, particularly with cart paths and greens, which can be slow and uneven. While some experienced golfers find the course lacking in upkeep and challenging play, many find it offers good value for the price, especially with available discounts.

Update: they are closed. Course is beautiful. Cart paths could use some work and the greens are, forgive me, rough in some areas. But overall a good course for the price.

Here is good course for me. If my condition is not good and do mistakes again and again, I can see beautiful lakes. That is the most important point I think. Fee is very good deal. I wanna play here again.

Played here last week, got a deal through last minute golfer. It was a fun course with a relaxed environment. The gentleman in the pro shop worked with me on my tee time since my friend was going to be a little late. Course was in pretty good shape. A few spots where the cart path was broken, but not nearly as bad as a lot of these reviews let on. Good pace of play, fairways and greens in pretty good shape. I would definitely play again.

This is a great place for beginners to go to find their rhythm of golf. You can usually find discounts and special rates online for the weekdays that will usually negate some of the steep prices. The fairways and rough are pretty similar. They have the same length cut, but different grass types (it will look the same). The level of players around the course is generally lower than most places, so it allows a newer golfer to almost feel at home when they see how many shots are sliced, shanked, thinned, and misjudged. The greens are super slow! Always aim 15ft past the target on the green to all…

This is a great beginner's course. It's very friendly to walk... I think we walk on the weekends after 12 for around $14. It's not necessary to get a cart because of the short distance even from the tips. Our usual group of guys play here when we need an easy round that doesn't cost alot. The greens are usually pretty shaggy and slow, but hey - it's what you get when you pay what you do. Overall, a good bang for the buck.

Course is playing great right now, the staff even let me start on the back 9 due to congestion during my last round. That was a first, they're improving operationally and the course has a great variety of blind tee shots, thick/thin fairways and give-me's. Good balance, a bit on the pricey side during weekend play but no complaints otherwise.

Fun driving range where you hit into the water. And the course was fun to play. Wish they had better upkeep on the cart paths and on the course and the price is a bit much compared to some others I've been too but not terrible. Would definitely come back.

Have not played here for a number of years. Course was in good condition including the greens. Due to the time of day I was able to play 15 holes (walking). A good value for a round of golf in the Raleigh area. Will play this course again.

Just Golfed here yesterday for the first time. Really nice guy working there. Not to expensive. The course was in surprisingly good shape for March. Fast greens. Not to busy. More than 30 minute drive for me but I'd go back

Lake Shore is below average, at best. This course plays very short and the fairways and greens are terrible. The maintenance is so bad that there is no difference in the rough and the fairway. I used to visit this location to hit balls at the driving range but as I became a better golfer I did not want to hit off mats. It is also the case that the balls are hit into a lake so they are water logged and the distance is not accurate. If you want a driving range where you hit balls into the water this is a great place to go. If you want a course that is well maintained and a great layout this is…

First off I have to say that I hated playing this course. I all but killed myself and my friend while trying to navigate their horrible cart paths. The cart path's asphalt has completely broken apart and is terrible to drive on. There is no dress code for this course so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when the 2 people playing behind us in jeans and a t-shirt were constantly talking and yelling in my back-swing while I was trying to tee off. The amount of $$ they charge to play 18 holes with a cart is ridiculous. Looking at about $45 -$50 at peak times which is outrageous for what yo…

I only rated this a 1 because you can't give a 0 rating. I only played here because I couldn't get a tee time on such late notice anywhere else and I wish I had just stayed home. They charged me 38$ to play 18 on a Saturday morning which is a reasonable rate for a nice well maintained course, however for what the course actually ended up being about 12$ would have been more reasonable. The course is literally a cow pasture cut out in the sticks. The tee boxes are barren and patchy, the fairways were composed of a little grass here, a little grass there, and the rest is just dirt. The greens we…
