If you hand ever played a links style course, with coarser grasses and paths that are only near the tee and green, you’ll understand this course better. It’s in pretty good shape, with the occasional unwatered area that you are hopefully hitting over anyway. Greens are slow because of the type of grass but they’re green and cared for and a challenge for any casual golfer! The bunkers are grown over, but who likes hitting out of sand anyway?! Cool little course. Greens and fairways well maintained. Rough is a challenge and tee boxes may not be what you are used to but the staff are great and the course was fun to play.

This course is well maintained but struggling to stay afloat. Waiemai is a bit off the beaten path so this course is a bit of a hike from Honolulu. That said, we really enjoyed it. Some greens have been allowed to be taken over by a native, this place grass but, they are mown low and just a touch slower than a bent grass green. T boxes and fairways are perfect. This course sits in and absolutely gorgeous valley. Worth a look for sure....did I mention it is only $70.

My brother and I played here twice in three days in early February of 2025. Absolutely one of THE most scenic golf courses I've ever played!! The mountains, the ocean views, and the weather were perfection! The course was not in the best shape though, (bunkers are overgrown, and most of the greens have a native vegetation that is pretty much impossible to putt on), but the closing greens are pretty good. What a great spot to stop!!! Our server, Summer, was fabulous!!! Our shrimp burger, coconut shrimp, and garlic fries were delicious! And we were instantly welcomed by the bar/restaurant employee immediately when we walked in! Loved this place!!!

A Hole-in-One Experience! Started my day with a mouthwatering breakfast that hit the spot before tee time. After tackling half the course, I couldn’t resist stopping in for lunch—and wow, the food was just as incredible the second time around! The staff were all warm, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. And let’s talk about those views—absolutely breathtaking from the green. Between the scenery, the service, and the bites, this country club delivers the full package. Can’t wait to come back!

This is my home course and always enjoy playing there... the price on the weekend is a great deal...I have no complaints whatsoever... food and service are totally outstanding...if you can play at Mākaha East Course...you can anywhere... yours truly...unko rans.

Excellent pro shop and restaurant service. Golf course was amazing. Nice buggies. Enjoyed playing with helpful locals that shared tips and helped me get two birdies.

While the greens can be a bit rough in places, this course offers some great views. The staff is extremely helpful and customer oriented. I'd say the most local friendly of all the Oahu courses I play. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to like this course due to the proximity to my house but at the end of 18 I can confidently say, I'll never be back. Pros: BEAUTIFUL VIEWS from almost every hole, open tee times, cheap fees ($123 for two residents on the weekend) and friendly staff. Cons: just about the hole course is in desperate need of attention. The tee boxes were incredibly overgrown, the 1st cut off of the fairway was so overgrown you'd immediately lose your ball.
