In summary

Mesquite Municipal Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and affordable green fees, making it a popular choice among golfers in the DFW area. The course is noted for its scenic back nine and is considered a shot-maker's course rather than one suited for long drives. However, some visitors have encountered issues with customer service, particularly with certain staff members, and there are occasional concerns about the pace of play and limited amenities such as a lack of beverage carts.

I’ve played Mesquite for years and the greens have been some of the best around. Consistency is key to a good golf course. The affordable green fees make it appealing and are a unrivaled value in DFW golf. It’s a great walker’s course. Some courses have gotten bad about frowning upon walking, which is shameful. The Greens usually run around 9-10 if I had to guess and always seem to be in decent shape when other courses greens aren’t. The course is not too difficult but still challenging for every level. Like every course, there’s a handful of uninspiring holes. In my opinion that would be the…

I haven't shot better than an 86 here. Shot makers course. Hate it and love it. Greens are inconsistent is really my only beef other than I hit way too many penalties out here.

This star score is because of the way the city is taking care of the course, the attitudes of the guys in the pro shop, and the overall lack of concern for what is a very nice track. The money put into the course several years ago really shaped it up and made it comparable to other similarly priced courses. But, for some reason the city just doesn't know how or care to keep it that way. It is not worth the money they charge when I can play much nicer courses for the same money. Honestly, it's a sad black eye for the city of Mesquite, TX.

Excellent course, very good value for such cheap greenfee. Very fast & well maintained greens. Overall a challenging course. One +200 yard par 3 for example is just 9/18 handicap. And the toughest hole long par 5 proved to be just that if you look at my scorecard 😚. Bring you A chipping and putting game here, folks! Starter Jerry was extremely friendly and rest of the staff too. Definitely worth the visit!

This is a great course for the average golfer. Dalton in the pro shop is the only staff member that has customer service skills. KYLE. Who, I found out, is mentioned in other posts. WILL, I repeat, WILL try to rip you off. Kyle sold me a "warm up" bucket of balls (their smallest bucket) for $9. Found out that night, the bucket prices are listed online and out of the 4 sizes their smallest is size is $5. Please fire Kyle.

Hadn't been by in a long time after having a bad experience with a marshall. Decided to hit a bucket on a Monday night. Get there at 5:30, nobody in the pro shop. Go put my shoes on in the bathroom, go back, nobody in the pro shop. Grab clubs from my car, go back, nobody in pro shop. Finally wait for a few minutes, call out, two finally come out. Get told they stop selling buckets at 5:30 shop to pick the range, then second guy adds his two cents: "I'm trying to go home man." Would love to support the local muni but instead got a great reminder why I haven't been in years.

Probably one of the best courses you can get on and not be a member in Dallas/ETX. Greens are coming in good and course is in pretty good shape. There are a few rough spots but nothing to trash the course about. If the rain keeps up it will be steller through summer. Fun challenging at times course.

I've been going to the range a bunch lately and enjoying it, but the guy Kyle working here is a piece of a work. I had a tee time in my cart for 20 minutes while I waited for their dumb site to send me my verification email, and then by the time it went through, the tee time was gone. I called them and said you have a slot 10 minutes later for the exact same price but it says 9 holes instead of 18. Are we able to try and get a few more done, knowing we likely can't finish them all before we need to be back? He was very rude about it, shut it down completely, and now I'm going to another cours…

One star just because the course itself is maintained decently. Other than that, Kyle is rude and thinks it’s acceptable to argue with an adult after overcharging him for product that is priced lower online. Also added that he was yelling at the customer in front of a 9 year old kid. Why is this being accepted at this company is beyond me but sounds like that employer hates his job and should not be working there. Unless this company’s motto is to be rude to their customers. Extremely disappointed and appalled at this behavior.

I’ve had one 2 star experience at this course and then one 4 star experience at this course so I’ll average and give it 3 stars. I’ve taken into account the fact that this is a municipal course so I’m not comparing it to private courses or anything higher end. My first experience here was rough. The pace of play was very slow, the crowd seemed to be inexperienced (almost got hit twice with no “fore!”), but the course condition was actually decent for the price. My second experience here was better. It was a hot summer day so the crowds were reduced, the course condition was average, and I ve…
