In summary

Mount Prospect Golf Club is highly regarded for its well-maintained course, challenging greens, and friendly staff, offering a quality golfing experience at a reasonable price. The clubhouse and practice facilities receive positive feedback, and the course's unique layout adds to its appeal. However, some visitors express concerns about slow pace of play, inconsistent reservation services, and issues with course management, particularly regarding dress code and tee time availability.

A great throwback design! Beautiful clubhouse and solid menu too. It’s unfortunate this generation of new golfers don’t repair ballmarks!!!

“Public Course, Private Quality” Not Even Close. That slogan is laughably inaccurate. This place has become a chaotic hangout for high schoolers who don’t pay, don’t check in, and frequently take carts without permission. I’ve personally seen countless kids just walk on, grab carts, and start playing. Evenings are worse. Groups of 5-6 are let out with no issue, and the course turns into more of a playground than a golf club. I’ve seen kids wrestling in fairways and doing cartwheels on the greens. It’s completely out of control. 0 dress code at this place. People show up in tank tops, jeans,…

Course amd practice facilities are top notch. I used to think the greens were difficult... actually made me a better putter.

Beautiful course on a normal day but this fall is exceptional. A great place for golf, well priced and lots of things to avoid!!! The food is great also.

Nice public course. Not too long, but challenging greens. Good practice facility with large putting green and chipping green. Nicely rebuilt clubhouse.

Love the greens here ! You have to actually play the breaks. Meaning it's like you're putting on ice ! We played best ball. Three foursomes. Everyone agreed, it seemed like 3 out of 4 putts or all 4 putts rolled right on by the hole if you didn't make the putt.

Last year Golf Magazine ranked Mt. Prospect as one of the top 100 municipal values in the country. Played the course for the first time yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. Course is in great condition! I was told by friends that the greens are what makes this course very challenging. They were correct. The greens are in great shape and have great character. I would say that half of the private clubs in Chicago would wish that they had greens that are as good as the greens at Mt. Prospect. I can't believe greens fees for walking during the week are only $39! Will definitely play here again…

First time playing it, though it was good condition, enjoyed the layout and the greens are very challenging. The price is reasonable, the facilities are nice and the staff was polite and helpful. Would definitely go back, I read a few one star reviews and they are unwarranted.

Booked tee time on TeeOff app. 3 hours prior to my tee time I get an email saying my tee time has been cancelled. I called the course and asked why it was cancelled and they said it wasn’t but my tee time had no availability. I called TeeOff and they said the course cancelled it for “unknown reasons” and would not answer their phone call. TeeOff did refund me but not cool course lied about canceling my tee time and booked it to someone else

The course is a good municipal course. I’ve played here for years, moved away and have gone back on occasion. The reason for my review not being 5 stars is they need to get rid of whatever 3rd party booking agent they use and get staff from the park district or pro shop to provide customer service. Just flat out terrible reservation service.

poor servixce and staff. also, the course is one gimmick after another. leave the driver at home. 4 greens ruin the whole experience. But, but MT P has the Best fairways and some of the best maintained turf in Illinois. really. Slloooowwwww pace--like 5+ hours and it seems OK w/ them, too. not many reasons to return

Nice early morning round, played very quick in the am. Quite a few ball markers on a lot of greens but conditions were good. Staff was nice
