In summary

Persimmon Hill Golf Club is often praised for its challenging and enjoyable layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers seeking value and a pleasant experience. The course is described as a hidden gem with beautiful scenery, though some visitors note that certain areas, such as bunkers and fairways, could benefit from more maintenance. While the overall experience is positive, a few reviews mention issues with pace of play and the need for better course amenities like water stations.

Wow is all I can say. The club house is old and a bit dated but has all can want. Driving range was short, 200 yards. Now the best part, the course. This place is in the middle of nowhere, but what a hidden gem! Greens were in immaculate condition, fairways were well groomed. The front 9 was fun, challenging enough but gave you some hope of a good score..... then you make the turn and incredibly challenging holes with numerous water crossings and narrow fairways. It was a beautiful course and if you want a fun challenging course this is it. The greens like I said were in great shape but fast.…

It's not the course you want to take to prom but the one you want to go home with. It's a solid course, close, friendly staff, decent greens, affordable, not overly busy. I thoroughly enjoy coming here.

Played 9/10/21 hardly anyone there.Overall id rate 3.5 carts are fine, greens have some dead spots but rolled true and flat.Fairways and tee boxes arent bad,all bunkers are unplayable and there is no fit and finish as far as weedeating goes.Cart paths are rough in spots like most courses.Great views and they have a snack bar but no free water along the course.Id be back with a foursome. They have a busy 2 lane in front of course that they should be advertising on. Overall good enough to be packed especially on a Friday.

6/10/25 Great course for the good ole boys wanting to enjoy golf and not pay ridiculous prices. Fun and challenging layout. Greens in good condition. Some fairways a little rough and hard packed bunkers but overall you can’t go wrong playing here. I’m in greenwood and chose to come here because the value you’re getting is way better than what’s left in greenwood.

I do not recommend to come here as a beginner player who is working on becoming better. While the course may be well maintained the staff is lacking. I (my husband and myself) was told that we needed to skip holes, because we were holding everyone up when there had not been anyone behind us at all until the very end of that hole in question. We had planned on letting that group play through when they caught up to us, but we were told that was not allowed either. We were told it took us an hour and a half to play 7 holes (most of which are par 4 and 5) which considering I am new to this, I didn…

I started playing here regularly in the spring of 2021. The greens were a little rough but they are nearly perfect now. The fairways are improving and they seem to be making continual improvements to the course.

I have played Persimmon Hill several times over the last few months. This is a fantastic older course. The layout is great. The greens are consistent and fairways are in good shape. There aren’t any ball washers or water stations so be prepared. (Lack of these seems common at lower priced courses in the area). Carts are all good. The pro shop staff is friendly and the snack bar has good food to grab and go at the turn. Pace of play has been very good. Price is very good for the quality of the course. This place is a classic course and a lot of fun.

I think this is a great golf course. It's fun and wide open. Be prepared for some long par 3s. Greens are in great shape. It is easy to get a tee time and doesn't break the bank to play. You have to keep it in perspective. You're not in Myrtle Beach. This is a small town golf course. People are friendly and fairways give you a nice lie. Lots of water, so bring a few extra balls. Our group had a great time.

Took my grandson out for a graduation round. Was quiet, pretty much slow , and perfect for a new golfer to get to play a real golf course. Price was great, had a wonderful day together. Teddy out performed my expectations by a lot. Looking forward to many more trips back there .
