In summary

Rock River Country Club is appreciated for its pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and enjoyable dining experiences, particularly during events like Easter brunch. However, many visitors express dissatisfaction with the course maintenance, noting poor green conditions and inadequate amenities such as water availability. While some enjoy the layout and find it easy to secure a tee time, others feel the course is overpriced given its current state.

Hurts to leave a review like this one... but this golf course is not maintained at all. Tee boxes had foot high dandelions, greens were half sand/dirt, and bunkers were so hard packed that no rakes were even left out. No lunch options available if you play. Costs more than other local courses and they don't even mow regularly. Very disappointed, as this used to be a nice place to play.

This course is terrible. The greens are so patchy and long it's almost impossible to have a half decent putt. The fairways and rough are fine and the tee boxes are ok. Will only play there if they have scramble tournaments and if it is cheap

I've golfed here 4 times this season. Twice in June once in July and once in September. June and July the greens on the front 9 where terrible, September the greens were a lot better but still not great lots of dead spots. In September the course was soggy. There where a few spots that looked normal and then when you step there your foot gets soaked. None of the water jugs around the course had water any time I went and it was hot or miss if the carts had water in the club/ball cleaner. Kind of important since they don't have ball cleaners at the tee boxes. The best thing this course has going…

Terrible golf course. Would not recommend to anyone. Way over priced. Geens are so bad might as well pic up the ball and go to the next hole and then repeat. Never will spend my money there again. Good luck

This course is okay at best... but the no running water in the clubhouse is disgusting!!

Greens are in bad shape. Brown dead spots on probably 14 out of 18 greens. Very slow, noticeably soft/long grass. Fairways and rough are fine. Tee box grass was long also. Pro shop staff were nice.

Great course layout. Over all well cared for and the staff was nice but the greens were in terrible shape, bare spots and holes not sure what happened to them or if they have ever been good as this was my first time there but they need some love for sure.

Terribly kept course. Save yourself the trouble and drive the extra 15 minutes to Emerald Hill.

Nice atmosphere, great staff, buffet was terrible. I think they served it at the nursing home the night before. Fake eggs, mushy French toast, dry meat.

It was very quiet and not too busy for Easter brunch. I could actually have a conversation with my in laws and wife without interruption

Front nine is shabby. #2 green is not... green, I mean. Back nine is good.
