I drive about an hour and a half here to meet my friends halfway. One of my favorite courses. Maintained very well. Staff is welcoming and friendly in both the pro shop and restaurant.

My expectations weren't high with the pricing I find in Golf Now. There were a lot of tee times available. Signage to get in lacks some simplicity and direction. There was no golf pro or office, just a bar and the bartender checked me in and have me a key. Greens and most of the tees were 4 of 5, but the rough grass was very tall. Trees were infringing on a couple tees, but overall it was a positive experience. I like the elevation changes and need of technicality to play well.

Great local golf course and restaurant/bar. The new owners really take pride in running a great business. The golf course is a great public course and they’ve really upped the restaurant. There are now standard hours, better food, and lots of events as well as a larger dining room.

What a wonderful golf course Lost Nation is. You feel like a kid again surrounded by the beauty and awe of nature, and your playing the game of golf through this experience. This is a challenging course and each hole is unique. The fairways can be narrow at times with dog legs that will test your game. The greens are in great condition and can be a test for chipping on and putting at the hole. After finishing our game we went to the bar there and had a great time. Strongly suggest checking this golf course out for not only the natural beauty, but also the play of the course itself.

Fun course, several less forgiving holes, overall pretty open left to right. Lots of nature, saw a few whitetails, rabbits, squirrels, etc. My 3 year old son joined on the cart and he had a blast. Haven't tried the bar, but I've heard good things.

I've been playing Lost Nations for 3 decades now. I still love it. They've made lots of changes over the years to try and attract more golfers/events to the course. The last time I played here (June 2025) the greens were a bit rough. I follow them on social media and see they're trying to improve the greens and fairways, hopefully they get that worked out soon. Highly recommend you play here.

Definitely is a nice area. I have heard from one person at the course that it's rough and I had heard the same response from someone else in Iowa at a different course and that guy is from Chicago

Hidden gem of a course and open to the public, Full 18 hole course that has a variety of challenging holes. It is a lot of fun to play. Very reasonable rates and fun leagues. Clubhouse is a friendly environment with good food, cold beers and more. New ownership in 2024 is making a lot of updates to the course, clubhouse and more. Will be exciting to see what is in store this year and beyond.

This was the first course I have ever played and still one of my favorites to this day. After living in the suburbs for almost a decade and having so many options to golf; Nothing beats coming out to Lost Nation and having both the beauty of the course and the friendly environment the staff has created for its patrons. The leagues are so much fun that there is sometime waiting list just to get in. Lost Nation has always been referred to as a hidden gem and it’s just that.
