In summary

Sanford Country Club is frequently praised for its excellent course conditions, challenging layout, and friendly, accommodating staff. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained greens and fairways, as well as the welcoming atmosphere at the clubhouse and bar. However, some guests have experienced issues with staff interactions and course management, such as slow pace of play and cart availability, which have impacted their overall experience.

Recently I played this course and then walked it 2 more times following my son for a US Challenge Cup. Each time I went around the course I noticed more improvements that have been made. Reshaped greens, reshaped/redesigned fairways and attention to detail will have this course being very nice in the coming years. Currently the clubhouse and food and beverage building are very outdated but if the same dedication thats been given to the course, I have no doubts that this will be one of the updates. Keep up the good work. The course set up difficult with some thick rough, swirling winds and narr…

Sanford Country Club - bucket list course for me after growing up tearing it up with my horses, I feel pretty bad about that now and yes, I made my apologies to the pro shop... Course was in excellent shape. Greens ran fast, the rough was just that, fairways were in great condition and the best part was the people you meet! Fantastic round of golf on a gorgeous fall day!

Visiting Maine, and a local reccomended this course. Golfed 9 with my husband for $55 each with cart. Ranger went out of his way to orient us to the course even gave us 2 SCC ball markers! Had rained the night before so some wet areas as expected. Had a great time, not busy. Had a local beer in their casual bar. Waitress/food mgr a 10! Will reccomend and definitely return.

Was there with my son at the driving range. The onsite golf pro, Ben, happened to be using the range as well. Of his own volition, he offered my kid several tips, multiple times, to improve his swing. That kind of service, it's hard to find these days. Go here - play golf - take a lesson from the pro - you won't regret it.

This is a very nice course that is in great condition. They are continuing to make improvements including cleaning up and re-seeding areas and adding new sand traps around the course.

Played on father's day . Really nice course. The pro shop is simple but effective. Greens, fairways tee boxes are in excellent shape.

Been playing this course for 6 years. Had the worst experience ever today with Jermey. Came up to me and my brother at the turn, started giving us a hard time about having two carts as a two some. When I simply said to him there are better ways to go about this then giving us a hard time saying we snuck out with them. We both paid for are rounds. This also ruined the back nine for us. His answer to me saying he should train his staff better was to say he’s banning me from Booking tee times. Guys obviously on a power trip. I would never recommend anyone to do any business with Jeremy. One the m…

This is a must play - Super friendly staff from the pro shop to the starter and a big shout out to Allyanna at the bar. (Good luck in CT) The course has a nice tricky layout with a lot of blind shots and speedy greens. I look forward to a return trip. TL Palm Bay, FL

The course looked good, but it was a jumbled mess. As a new golf player I've been trying to do new courses in the area and this has been the worst experience so far. The first two holes were super confusing since it was connected to the second hole. Everybody was all over the place. We were so bottlenecked that it felt way too slow and rushed at the same time. It just wasn't a fun time. I don't think I'll go back again unfortunately.

I will never golf here again and I live 5 mins away!! Canceled our cart rentals 2 hrs before todays tee time siting employee shortage!! Offered to use walking carts!! Showed up for tee time and not only were all the walking carts broken and none available for our group of 4 but they let another group of 4 take carts and claimed one was a former employee who can clean his own cart after the round!! Total BS all around.. ended up canceling the entire round. Current manager not willing to make any accommodations for the inconvenience. I will be taking this issue up the chain spreading the word on…
