In summary

Santa Anita Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, spacious layout, and friendly staff, making it an enjoyable and challenging experience for golfers. The course's scenic setting near the mountains and its accommodating driving range are additional highlights. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about slow pace of play and management issues, such as delays and booking policies, which can impact the overall experience.

A very challenging golf course, but well maintained with fairways and greens in great condition for the price. The green speed was a bit slow, though. Definitely will come back again.

"If you haven't played here yet, it is highly recommended. The course is well-maintained overall. The greens roll fast enough, but the soil is very stiff, which means your shots won't sit where you want them to. It is a flat and wide course, but there are trees alongside the fairway on most holes. The round took a bit less than 5 hours. The pace is good on weekends."

Beautiful course! Greens are well kept, with plenty of eel positioned bunkers. It’s priced mid but pacing is ok. There’s 2 par 3s where it slows down but speeds up pretty fast after. Wide open fairways to minimize lost balls.

I should have went with my gut after reading the other reviews, because there were many where they warned about a very slow pace of play. This place is horrible. By the fourth hole there was our group and the two groups behind us waiting to tee off. The marshals don't care and are useless. The course itself is decent, nothing to brag about, but the management and attitudes here are painfully agonizing. I will never come back again. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED..........

The managers are not professional. We arrived at the tee on time, but the staff suggested that we skip the hole, because the other group of late person was allowed to play behind us without any problems.

The lawn is better than when I went 3 months ago..It's close to LA town, so we go there a lot, but...well This is a local 9-hole golf course with affordable green fees and a very relaxed, casual vibe. It’s not a high-end or flashy course, and the conditions aren’t luxury-level, but it’s reasonably maintained and enjoyable to play. The course is easygoing and comfortable, making it a great place for a quick round, casual play, or practice without pressure. It’s especially nice if you just want to enjoy golf without spending too much time or money. Overall, it’s a solid neighborhood 9-hole co…

Tee times are booked every week almost instantly so you gotta be on right at 8 a week before if you want a decent time. Every hole is backed up, pace of play is agonizingly slow. There are somehow 5 somes allowed so that slows it down even more. No signs on the par 3s to wave up the group behind also. On the plus side the course is decently maintained most of the time.

After the rain, the grass was all green and nice. It's not a relaxing course for women to play, but it's a spacious and challenging golf course.

Nice golf course. The greens need to be cut better , the ball hops all over place to the hole. Very busy course , our game was 5 hours 39 minutes. Lot of waiting each hole. Tee boxes so dry , the tees almost break . The restaurant is really good.

Course and course conditions are decent but poorly managed. Even if tee time is fully open they don’t let people go solo, they will move your tee time and group you. The way they went about it wasn’t very professional/kind. Hit a bucket and a half of range balls and not exaggerating, half the balls were dead. If you want to play here, come with a group at an early weekday tee time. Otherwise, skip.

We booked specifically to finish before sunset. We arrived at the course only to be told that there was a 30 min delay on all tee times. No explanation why. When we asked for the twilight rate since we wouldn’t finish 18, they refused. No apology or ownership from the pro shop guy, just a “it is what it is, take it or leave it” attitude. The course played slow, conditions were ok. Overall awful experience due to the staff’s lack of care or customer service
