In summary

Smoke Rise Country Club receives praise for its challenging and scenic golf course, friendly staff, and well-maintained amenities, including tennis facilities and a family-friendly pool area. Many visitors appreciate the revitalized food and beverage offerings. However, some golfers have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly regarding tee boxes and sand traps, and have experienced frustrations with the GPS-controlled golf carts and occasional scheduling mishaps.

Played here yesterday 4/27/25. The course conditions are not favorable at all, and that's me being very, very kind. 15 out of 18 tee boxes were completely sand or just hard dirt. The vast majority of the course where washout can occur, has. Every single bunker was a pool of water. It did rain recently but certainly not enough to cause this in the bunkers. This is from neglect over a long period of time. I bet you cannot find a can of green spray paint in DeKalb county right now. It's all been used on these greens! While the majority of the greens were oddly well maintained, they were painted…

Beautiful and well maintained course. Great Customer Service all around. Megan in the Pro Shop is kind and funny. Horace at the Bar/Grill does a phenomenal job of making you feel at home. I'll be back and will probably become a member.

My husband and I joined Smoke Rise and have enjoyed the golf, tennis, and fitness center facilities. The greens are looking better than ever and the courts have been refinished this year. Wednesday night family dinners have been so tasty and Friday night dinners are wonderful. The staff is so friendly and attentive. We are excited to see the club grow.

A very nice golf course. The fairways and greens are in good condition. I was not happy about the signage on the golf course. Better directional signs would be good. We also encountered a group of people actually practicing on the course. They had 20 or so golf balls and they were hitiing shots about 130 yards out from the fairway to the green. They didn't even move when we approached the tee box. They were also putting on the green of another hole and practicing chips shots all while we were on the green.

Went to check in, was told there was a members tournament going on and it would be ending about when we started. No problem. Paid $85 for a full 18 plus cart fee. They failed to tell us that there were no flags on the greens and 4 punched holes on every green. Terrible conditions on the tee boxes. We stopped after 9 holes. Asked for a refund but was denied very quickly and instead handed a 9 hole rain check…. To which I will NEVER come play here again. So if anyone wants to play 9 for $40 there. Let me know For $10 more, I could have played Chateau Elan that is absolutely way better golf.

Was invited to The Pool at Smoke Rise Country Club. Nice Clean Salt Water Pool, with splash pad, slide, as well as a hot tub area. Don't forget the Snack Bar!

Although this course is fairly decent (fairways, and greens. ONLY), fantastic layout that makes you think on every hole everything else is pitiful!! The trees are over grown, the sand traps are a joke! THEY CHARGE $80 for this!! I think they have to due to the renovations to the country club. Have not changed since I went 3 years ago!!

Golf smoke rises Sunday. Course is extremely challenging grains were in good shape. Could use a little bit of work on a tee box and some beer spots or hard spots in the fairway. Other than that the food is good. The service is good and golf is course together. It's a challenging course

The revitalized food & beverage program have created the best restaurant location in the entire area. Great service, too.

Course was in poor shape with construction throughout. Additionally, landscaping could use a major overhaul. Weeds overtaking greens, tee boxes, fairways & sand traps. I get it, if you’re short staffed/other circumstances arise. That’s just the thing I noticed throughout my round. The carts, GPS controlled, while a nice addition for yardage, locked us out from 150 yards to the green. We were unable to drive to our balls because we “were too close to the green or in an area where we could drive”. Course layout was very confusing. Caters to long irons/woods and only two holes where you could ac…

This course has had its struggles over the years, but I have to say, the course, and in particular the greens have NEVER been better. The Course has benefitted from not having the GolfNow traffic. Tee boxes have much improved too. Looking forward to playing again.
