In summary

Stone Mountain Golf Club is appreciated for its scenic beauty, particularly the picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains, and the friendly and helpful staff. However, many visitors express dissatisfaction with the course's condition, citing issues with poorly maintained fairways, greens, and bunkers, which they feel do not justify the high fees. Additional concerns include the extra park entry fee and limited amenities like water stations and cart services.

Been playing here more recently. Always a good course. A few fairways need significant work. But if you love scenic courses lakemont I should a must play! Beautiful holes by the water and stone mountain. Plays longer than the yardage. Putts break toward the magnetic mountain!

I rarely leave reviews, but this situation has me frustrated. Has the potential to be the nicest course in Atlanta hands down. Charging $100, and yes you get a great view. But the course should match the layout. You have a mountain and a lake…. But fairways that are dirt / sand. Greens that are awful. It makes no sense. If you want it to stay a bad course fine..:. But don’t charge a premium for trash

Loved it. Area was scenic and course was well groomed. Greens are quick but fair and pace of play was great. I couldn't ask for better. Maybe I'd like to see more water on the course since drinking water and ball cleaners were non-existent.. But that's my only gripe.

$20 just to get in through the gate. This course was nowhere near worth as much as it cost. This Was the first and last time I would ever play here. Course is not maintained properly. No course that cost upwards of $100 should look like this

The most overpriced course in Atlanta. It blows my mind how they can charge a minimum of $80 a round and often north of $100 and have a course in such terrible shape! I’ve played municipal courses better kept than lakemont. Just a few years ago we played here dozens of times and it was our favorite. We stopped playing when the course dropped off and we couldn’t justify the expense. It’s been a year since I’ve played here and it’s only gotten worse. It’s sad. Take a look at the #10 tee box pic. All tees on one box with a cone and overgrown grass. The other boxes look like they’re slowly becomi…

Great facilities. Friendly staff and a gem in Atlanta Proper. Came here for a work trip and was so pleasantly surprised. Can’t recommend this course enough. The lake course is a lot more scenic than the mountain course.

This course needs so much work, bad greens with mud and dirt patches on all the greens plus the practice area is not good at all. There should not be any tournaments played on this course until it is in better condition.

Course has good scenery but is not in good shape. Tee boxes and fairways and bunkers are all a mess. Pro shop staff wasn’t the friendliest. No cart service on a weekday, and only place to get a drink is the clubhouse which is like a 5-7 cart ride from the range and hole 1 / 10 locations. Having to pay to enter the park was annoying too, especially for the uber driving picking me up. They should just bake the fee into the tee time or something better.

Let me start by stating that this is a beautiful golf club! I've been to Stone Mountain plenty of times but, this is the first chance I've gotten to play golf here. We played the Lakefront course and were greeted on the first tee by "Montana". Let me say meeting him was the perfect way to start our day and our round! Super friendly, welcoming, and being our first time playing the course, he gave us a few tips to help us on ball placement, etc. for the front nine. The course was in beautiful shape. It was well manicured and the greens were phenomenal. And of course there is the beautiful scener…

Both courses are great and in pretty decent shape. Staff were great. Pace of play leaves a bit to be desired, but overall not bad.

First of all, I understand it is winter, but this course is in such awful shape I don’t see how it will recover as the temps warm up. Played the Lakemont course which has a nice layout, but the fairways are either muddy, washed out, or just bare. A couple of greens were okay, but they were all shaggy and most of them were bumpy with many bare or sandy spots. Bunkers (not that I was in many, haha) were mucky in most spots. Tee boxes also rough. Speaking of rough, if you happen to slightly miss a fairway there is no rough—mostly rocks, sand, or more muck. The range is a joke. First of all, $8 f…

For $100 a round between the course fee and parking, I was highly disappointed and would not recommend to anyone. The current shape of the greens on the lakeside course are unacceptable. Between 10-30% of the area on all greens are unusable hazard. There is so much sand and fertilizer on the other areas of the greens that you have bouncing putts the whole round. No cart attendant waa present at the beginning or end of our round. I am going to be seeking a refund and will update the review to let everyone know how management addresses the concern. Until then, save your money and golf elsewhere.…
