In summary

Starfire Golf Club receives praise for its helpful and professional staff, with some visitors appreciating the course's condition and the overall experience. However, there are significant concerns about slow pace of play, poor course maintenance, and issues with customer service, particularly regarding equipment rentals and management of tee times. Some guests also note construction disruptions and organizational challenges.

Came to Starfire for our monthly networking and nine holes! Course was in great condition! Staff was helpful when we finished. Grabbed a few beers in the clubhouse afterwards and the bartender was great! We'll be back!!

If you enjoy waiting for 20 minutes on each tee box and having a pace of play of 6 hours, then this is the place for you. Each hole was backed up with at least 3 groups on each tee box, and there was no warning ahead of time. They wouldn’t even give you carts until 15 minutes before your tee time, and their range is actually a half mile away from the Pro Shop. At the end we even told the worker who was trying to clean our clubs that this place blows, and he replied “That’s why I work here, I love getting blown.” That line from the employee is a perfect representation of how this course is. Perfect place for 9 holes~ Travis in the pro shop was very professionally and quick to help us book our tee time with short notice. Grateful for the “extra” what seemed above and beyond by all including the “Tyler’s” & Dave helping get us set up to go out and very helpful on our return back in! Glad we found you and plan to return ~ most excellent ~thank you & BRAVO

Signed up for par 3. Starter loaded my rental clubs and did not secure the bag. Clubs fell off on the first hole and the shaft on the driver broke. Went back to clubhouse and course refused to accept responsibility. Of course no decision makers were working and they charged my credit card $95 for a broken shaft. Even though it’s on a par 3 and I didn’t use the driver. Also the course is under construction. Two flags on every hole. Buyer be ware. Currently disputing charge

Up until 2026, this was one of my favourite courses. This year (2026), the condition of the course has gotten steadily worse. I don’t think I’ve ever played on a course in worse condition than what I experienced there last week. The $90. Green fees are pretty low for Scottsdale but way overpriced for what you get. Probably a $20. value. The new owners seem to be putting a lot of effort and investment into the par 3 course and driving range but totally neglecting the 18 hole course. It’s hard to understand the thinking behind letting it deteriorate to this degree. I hope the light bulb goes on…

In town for youth sports tournament and took the entire team to golf. Could have been a massive headache, but the team at Starfire was exceptional. They were organized and prepared and made the whole day so much fun for the boys. I was very impressed by all of their staff. I also realized after departing that I left my drivers license at the course. Hallie was so helpful in sending my card back to me. Exceptional experience and exceptional team.

Course condition is OK. Surely can find better course in the area. Tee off at 750am, and we were at hole #8 by 915am, and the golf marshall told us that we played way too slow and needed to pick up the speed. With 4 some ( with 2 beginners), we finished front 9 in less than 2 hours. In addition, we also let a solo behind us to play through. Never come back to this course.

This used to be a favorite neighborhood course of ours, but it's really gone downhill. Played here yesterday, teed off at 4:30 with the hopes of getting 9 holes in. It took 90 minutes to complete 4 holes, there were 4 groups waiting on hold #2, and always at least 2 groups on every hole thereafter. They pack in the tee times (must be 8-10 min apart), and no rangers to manage pace of play (the staff said they were all let go). We were told @Travis Fish was the head pro or course manager - Travis, you've got a problem here...

A buddy of mine left his range finder in the golf cart by accident. The staff was absolutely no help when we went back to retrieve it and after speaking to numerous people over the phone who promised call backs, we showed back up on our own just to find out that they do not have it. We know exactly where it was left and considering they are denying it, that proved someone on their staff took it.

1st time playing there. 1st three holes horrible. Thought about leaving. Joined a 2 some. Things got better. Had wanted a rain check due to all the big trucks and equipment. Pace of play got better. I would recommend this course after construction is over. Or discount cost due to major construction. It effect the obeisance. Staff was great. Enjoyed my round.

I’ve played this course many times over the years with my kids and always enjoyed it as a casual, affordable spot. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had here—and honestly, one of the worst overall in my golfing history. The course itself was in terrible shape: extremely muddy fairways, dirt patches, beat up greens. The driving range was just as bad— we were the first ones there and basically no grass just dirt to hit off. Things got even worse when we rented a set of clubs. On the very first hole, the head completely fell off one of the clubs. The c…

Poorly maintained & poorly run. Round on Saturday at 1030 am, so can expect it to move slow. But we were backed up on literally the 3rd hole, which was after a par 3. Ground was so hard I regularly had difficulty sticking my tee in the ground at the tee box. A bunch of kids jumped in front of us at the turn, splitting our group up, after we politely told them we were about to hit. Then they hit into our other friends, from whom they split us up. Mind you we were all waiting on every hole, there was nowhere to go. Never had to call the golf shop twice in one round before this one. For $160, I a…
