Sunset Hills Public Golf Course

This is my first golf course I've ever played on and I enjoyed it. It's low cost and they do pretty well on taking care of the green. I've played all the way through the 9-hole practice (they have an 18-hole regulation I haven't played), rented the golf carts but have also walked it which it's not too bad, and I've also been a few times just to hit the balls at the Driving Range and practice area.

Great course for a fast 9 or 18. Played 18 here on 4/7 and pace of play was quick. Tee time was 10:30 and the starter got us off about 15 minutes early. Made the turn at 12:20 and finished 18 by 2:30. 4 hour rounds are rare, so I was thankful for everyone keeping it moving, but we never felt rushed. We also didn't encounter any marshalls on the course, so this was entirely due to players being conscientious. There were some back-ups at the par 3's, but that is to be expected on any course. Just had the most unpleasant experience with the golf shop. Asked if someone booked a teetime that I was just told was available, and was then put on hold without being communicated with. Waited minutes to then hear “are you still there” and then no explanation. Addressed being put on hold with no explanation, met with silence. Have golfed here many of times. Decent course! Very good for new golfers or casual play. Only leaving the review for the outrageous telephone experience just now.

The greens are tiny. The greens are also elevated on hills in such a way that if you land on the green two yards from the edge your ball will roll off and travel 20 yards down the hill, IN ALL DIRECTIONS. This would be fine if it were a challenge offered on 1 or 2 holes, but it's literally EVERY HOLE. They should give you a big red nose and a set of clown shoes when you start your round. Would be a fun easy course but I’m currently sitting waiting on hole 3 to tee off with 3 others groups on the tee box waiting. Pace of play is terrible. Should have booked a better course this is going to take 6 hours to finish a round. EDIT: didn’t finish the round if you’re actually decent at golf do come here if you shoot in the 80s hell even the 90s this is for people that are slow as hell and shoot 110+ not actual golfers

I just recently started my golf journey at love playing at sunset hills. The improvement I have seen over the summer is tremendous. Shout out ranger Nate and Al for being so helpful and encouraging! Would recommend to anyone!

I have played this course around 20 times. It is not the best course in the world, but it is appropriately priced and a good value. It is generally easy to get a tee time and things move along better than other public courses in the area. They have good twilight rates. The greens are really good this year.

I frequent sunset hills often, as it’s affordable and the learners course is a fantastic way to hone your skills. There are improvements being made every day—and those who have been going can see the changes. I would be remiss if I did not mention Nate, he is a true gem of this place. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and ensures everyone is having a good time and can enjoy the game. If you are just getting into golf, he is a wonderful person to run into out there. This place is in good shape now. Greens are bit slow,but wide,easy course. Not many water,or OBs. Will be too easy for advance players,but great for who just started,or got back in the game. Or who doesn’t hit far. Price is great as well.

Crowded course. Lots of waiting. Unhelpful staff. We were told we could come back another time. After returning our cart and putting our equipment away, we were told to “play another hole” by Jeff, the manager. You might have a better experience, but ours wasn’t so great

I play there several times a week and the course is in really good condition. It has continued to improve significantly over the past 2 years and for the cost is awesome! The employees are great to interact with and create a wonderful customer experience! Hunter specifically is exceptional!
