In summary

The Country Club at Lake City is appreciated for its challenging and thoughtfully designed layout, friendly staff, and event hosting capabilities. However, many visitors express concerns about the current condition of the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, noting that maintenance issues detract from the overall experience. While some amenities like the pro shop receive positive feedback, the clubhouse's limited availability and upkeep are also points of criticism.

Let’s be real: the greens are in pretty rough shape right now, and there was at least one bunker that hadn’t been sanded at all and was basically mud. That said, everything else about this course is absolutely amazing. The fairways, rough, tee boxes, range, and pro shop are all in great shape. I drove three hours to play here, and it was 100% worth the $44, which is already a great price for what you get. The course architects absolutely nailed it. It’s challenging but fair, with really rewarding shot payoffs. I loved how much it made me think about each shot instead of just swinging away. T…

Looking down from an airplane this might actually resemble a golf course. It’s not the worst course I’ve ever played but it’s a solid tie. They warned us about the greens but they didn’t tell us that the tee boxes and the fairways were equally bad. Even the cart paths are horrendous. The juice is definitely not worth the squeeze on this one!

What happened? I went to school at Lake City for golf course operations and this was a course I played all the time during my three years in Lake City. It was always such a little gem and the greens were great - 15 years later and it’s almost unrecognizable. I still really like the layout and I’m sure the budget isn’t very big but the greens were practically just dirt and Poa. I think it was called Southern Oaks back when I used to play it and it was a single owner club. Old guy used to always ride around the course he seemed to take pride in it. Maybe my standard is just higher now But I hope…

Drove almost 4 hours to play. Great layout but it’s not being taken care of. The greens were brown and the fairways were like Hay. The Bathroom near hole 17 was Disgustingly not cleaned and clogged up. It looks like it’s been that way for a long time. Do Better!

This is by far the worst course that I have ever played. And I have been playing for 30 years all over FL and GA. There is no good grass in Fairways, bunkers are not maintained, Greens were not greens at all and almost looked like Fairway. Word of advice is all courses should have the top payed Greens Keeper.

Food was good, got a cowboy burger. Air conditioner didn't seem to be working that great. Place was a little warm. They have allot of seating and seam to be doing some updates on the inside.

Every thing was fine, the only thing that comes mind is the banquet room is located right off of the bar and it was very loud and we had a hard time hearing our speakers. Other than that it was nice.

I have only been to the restaurant / bar. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Karaoke night is echo night. The acoustics need improvement. There is nothing to absorb the sound on the windows or walls, so it's very loud. If someone is talking while you sing, it can overpower the music because of it. If they had something decorative to put on the walls, and shades on the windows the sound would be better absorbed and karaoke night would be so much more fun.

Touch coarse. Stay on fairway because the grass in high in the rough hard to find your ball but can find others all day. Had a great time
