In summary

The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful setting and challenging course layout, with well-maintained greens and a design that tests strategic play. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about slow pace of play due to overbooking, inconsistent course maintenance, and occasional issues with staff communication. Despite these criticisms, many golfers appreciate the overall experience and improvements in course conditions.

Beautiful course, played the front 9, greens were perfect, pro shop staff friendly, great course overall, will be back for sure! Driving range was closed at the time for maintenance but looked in good shape overall!

Spent five hours on the course today. It’s nestled in a stunningly beautiful community, but don't let the scenery distract you—this course is a beast. The fairways are relatively narrow with significant elevation changes, and most holes are doglegs that require strategic placement. The greens are particularly tricky and very fast; if you’re not careful with a downhill putt, you’ll easily find your ball rolling right off the green. Due to the recent dry spell, some fairways were a bit sparse with occasional bare dirt patches. There was also some maintenance machinery operating on a few holes, w…

Great course with a challenging layout. Would be 4 stars close to 5 if the Bunkers had been raked in the last month. I have played it multiple times in the last couple months and it seems as though my group is the only people including staff to pick up a Rake. Also the greens keeper likes to place holes on illegal pin positions. Greens keeper needs a copy of the rules book. Greens are great by the way.

Probably played my last round at the Preserve yesterday. Every time I've played here the tee times are slid to squeeze in more groups and the pace of play is miserably slow, and it's not because of slow golfers. We quit early and drove passed 10+ groups all experiencing the same thing. I get it's a pretty day in the winter and you want to make money, but this isn't the way to do it. It's so overbooked it never has a chance to open up after the first couple holes. Two stars only because the course is nice and in good condition given the time of year.

Terrible!!! Aside from the squeezed in tee times I called in specifically to ask if there were any afternoon tournaments. I was told there were not by a pro-shop worker named Jeff. He flat out lied to me as when we got here we were stuck behind a tournament with about 10 groups of children golfers. It was the slowest round ever and I paid $40 to play about seven terrible holes. I will be disputing the transaction, I also will never play here and highly recommend you go elsewhere; so many better courses in the area. Out of 5 Course management: 1 Condition:2 Staff:1

The Preserve at Jordan Lake is a fun and challenging course, and the Davis Love design really shines. Despite all the heavy rain and flooding we've had this summer, the course was in pretty good shape. You can see they're working hard to get things back to 100%, with a couple of tee boxes being re-sodded and some bunkers that still need a bit of work from being washed out. The greens, in particular, were in great condition. I'm looking forward to coming back to play again when everything is fully recovered. My only real frustrations were with the non-golf parts of the experience. I tried call…

** UPDATE July 3rd, 2025 *** I've played this course fairly regularly for the past 5-6 years and can say without doubt, the grounds team really deserves some kudos. The current course conditions have got to be some of the best ever! It is the beginning of July and the course is lush and green. The fairways looks excellent (when I actually stayed on them! 😆) and the greens are FANTASTIC. During our round we did stop a couple mowers who looked a little apprehensive at first when we flagged them down (maybe this only happens when people want to complain?) but they were so appreciative when we sai…

The course plays really well and challenging. The course itself needs a lot of improvement; Tee boxes , fairways and greens. It’s not worth the price until they get the course improved. I’ll try coming back next year. Won’t play again this season.

I played in a corporate event here recently and the course was actually in good condition minus a few tee boxes. To be fair, it is likely worth the green fees based on the design by DL3. Challenging but fair. I enjoyed it.

On hour four of what will be a six hour round. Four groups on the 14th hole and we haven't seen a ranger all day. Course is okay, in better condition than in the past, but still only so so. It will be a long time until I return.

Usually have a good experience here. Drove a little over an hour away to play this morning. Didn’t see that they were under a one and half hour frost delay. Had the 9:06AM tee time (it’s 8:30AM while writing this review), but now we tee off at 11:03AM, doesn’t make sense to me. Front desk guy was not very helpful.

$82 to play a course with the vast majority fairways recently aerated and/or resodded and without any of the plugs moved is ridiculous, especially without any prior notice to players until they are on the course. Several tee boxes were also in rough shape and need some serious care. The only reason for a 2 star review is the fact the greens were in really nice shape and rolled true.
