In summary

Asheboro Municipal Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and the historical charm of its Donald Ross design, making it a valued spot for both beginners and seasoned golfers. However, some visitors have expressed frustration with inconsistent communication regarding course availability and operational policies, suggesting room for improvement in customer service and scheduling transparency. Despite these issues, many find the course to be a convenient and enjoyable place to play.

This course is always a solid course to go to. The greens and course is always in good shape. If you want to play 9 or 18 this is the place to stop in at!

Decent Course, But Run Like a Wannabe Country Club Asheboro Municipal is fine for what it is—a small, local nine-hole course. Layout’s solid, price is right. But the way this place is run? Clueless. We called Wednesday asking about a tee time for Thursday. The response? “We don’t do tee times during the week.” Cool. Then we show up the next day… and the course is completely shut down for high school teams. Not a heads-up, not a word of warning, just “Sorry, can’t help you.” And this is after we called ahead. That’s the kind of mismanagement you’d expect from some backwoods operation pretendi…

Anyone who wants to learn the game, improve their shotmaking, or just appreciate an oasis in the middle of Asheboro should come here. An underappreciated Ross classic, feels like a time machine

The golf course is conveniently located and offers reasonable prices, but I find the inconsistency in operations frustrating. While I understand that rules may change based on weather and other factors, I have never felt truly welcomed as a player, especially considering that my colleagues and I frequently play here as part of our work league. Today, my eight-year-old son and I arrived to play, and when I simply asked for a cart, the attendant responded dismissively, questioning whether we were walking. I explained that I was informed to arrive by 5:00 to secure a cart, but was told that they…

Played the course for the 1st time today with my grandson. Nice layout, good greens, pretty good fairway grass, very playable. Had a really nice round. Shame it's only 9 holes, but you can hit from different tees. Player friendly course.

Been playing the last few weeks for work. They have been hosting a tournament, so they were closed this week. Otherwise, I’ve always had a good time playing and it’s a good, quick coarse to play. It’s convenient to go play a round! Everyone has always been nice and kind.

A challenging 9 hole Donald Ross golf course. Where else can you play a Donald Ross gem for only $10 walking all day. This course appears to be easy at first, but it is not easy. There are up hill shots that play longer than you think. There are fairways with trees growing into them making tee shot accuracy a premium. Then there are the greens, if you are on the wrong side of the hole, you are dead. These are some of the most sloped, fast greens around. You have to think before you hit on this course. When you play this course, you sense the genius of Donald Ross that everyone raves about. Ash…

Beautiful course! Just as nice, if not nicer, than any course in the area! My only complaint is it's just 9 holes! . A hidden gem. The staff and every one else made it a truly enjoyable experience. We will go back.

I decided to take my family to play 9 holes after reading some of the comments that this is a great place for beginners. It was me who is not very good but enjoy playing, my son who is pretty decent, my other son who has never played and my nephew who has never played. We followed all protocols in regards to letting folks play around us, picking up our ball and dropping at the long ball, ect…… We was on hole 6 when we were approached and told we were holding up everyone behind us. I tried to explain there was a group right in front of us over the hill that we let play around us and we were go…

This used to be the toughest 9 anywhere around. Years ago they cut out all the trees ,,trying to get more traffic. I grew up on this course, we would ride the 🚌 to School . Back then ,before Taco Bell, Wendy's, etc,, there were houses there. I kept my Club at the Kenyan Davidson Garage, me and one of my best friends growing up,, James Young would play there all the time. Morris Whitson was the Vice Principal at the Junior High then. Steve Welch was the Pro at the City Course. Student membership was nothing, and our Daddies bought us one every year. We would ride to School, the bell would ring,…

This is one of the most challenging nine holes of Golf for a twelve & above handicap Golfer you may face. It is so well maintained & so well kept. One will enjoy the time spent & playing a round at the Munni.

Just visited here for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was a nice little golf course. We did have to wait at every hole for the golfers in front of us to finish, that was a little frustrating bc we wanted to play on faster but every hole was behind..so couldn’t play ahead. The staff was very nice though. The course was fun and well cared for and the price was fair.
