In summary

Elgin Golf Course offers a challenging layout with hilly terrain and some well-maintained areas, providing a unique golfing experience. However, many visitors have noted significant maintenance issues, including poor fairway and green conditions, and limited amenities such as refreshments and equipment. While some appreciate the affordable rates, others feel the pricing does not reflect the current state of the course.

Im really disappointed in this course. I was excited to golf for the first time in Florida. BUT this course is an atrocious, way over priced, run down patch of dirt. It was $100 for the two in my party to golf. And you have to pay for 18. They dont have pricing for 9 only. The entire course conditions were patchy at best. This place needs a renovation yesterday.

Can't beat the rates and the course is well-maintained. Challenging fairways with lots of vertical relief (hard to see the greens over some hills). The widths are forgiving, though, compared to golf communities like Bluewater Bay (and $30 cheaper for 9)

Enjoyed this course. Pretty challenging. During COVID they gave us a cart each. Great price. Well looked after greens and fairways with many impassable hazards.

One of the worst courses in the area. Military leadership has neglected this golf course for some time and the conditions of fairways and greens are very bad. Also management has reduced services for players such as very little drinking water provided at tees, no refreshment cart provided for golfers, grill has shut down so nothing to eat after a round. carts are in bad shape and old. I wish I could give it 0 stars. It is such a shame. This course was one of the best golf courses in the area years ago and was a favorite for many including myself. I still play there but it’s getting to the poin…

The courses are in horrendous shape, every single fairway has sand or potholes. The greens are also unplayable, the greenskeepers and maintenance team of the course are pointless and I am guessing don't care about their job. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE, IT IS A WASTE OF TIME.

First off I have to say the staff was great, but the course was atrocious. You can’t really call this a golf course. The fairways were sparse and the greens were pretty sad. They said the Falcon course was closed due not enough play. Now I see why. The greens fees were not bad but it was still too much for what we got. The cart we had had the whole corner of material missing from the seat. As a retired Air Force member, I love playing the base courses when traveling but this one not be on my play again list.

I have been playing this course regularly for 10 years , my wife and I always enjoyed the challenging walk as it is a very hilly course. Unfortunately the last 2 or 3 years it has gone downhill very quickly. As it went down dramatically they raised the membership price . It used to be a very busy place, now they have lost many members and hardly anyone plays there anymore. It is a shame because it is a unique natural setting for a golf course, unusual for Florida. It used to be a great place for all our active and retired service members and their families to enjoy. Hopefully someone will step…

FALCON: This is a fun little course, but nothing too incredibly memorable! I enjoyed it and would play it again. Definitely designed for an accurate hitter of the tee, other wise you will be dropping a lot of balls. EAGLE: Blind shots everywhere! This course is in solid condition, and will catch you off guard for being a military course. If you’re playing here for the first time, you should really play with someone who has played it before or you will be punished!

* "Avoid this golf course. * "This golf course was a major disappointment. The greens were parched, and playing the same nine holes twice was incredibly boring. Given the high price, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone." * "Don't waste your time or money on this golf course.

The GOOD: the course provides a pretty solid challenge. It keeps it interesting and forces you to play some solid golf. It also rewards some gambles but can be punishing. The BAD: The Falcon course is still closed. The (really) UGLY: The Eagle course is terribly kept. There are open roots on the fairway and sand patches in the middle of fairways. About half of the greens are eaten away, half sandy, or just gross to play on. For the price i would say try another place. Worst base ive played at.

Okay but could definitely use some work. Fairways are very rough, greens fair, a bit pricey for the quality of the course. Big disappointment? Can only pay for 18 holes, 9 hole option. I’ve definitely golfed nicer courses for less money.
