In summary

Fort Walton Beach Golf Club receives praise for its well-maintained Pines course, friendly staff, and enjoyable layout, with recent improvements enhancing the overall experience. The driving range and amenities, including a restaurant, are also highlighted positively. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of the Oaks course, inconsistent management practices, and slow pace of play, which can detract from the experience for some golfers.

Played the Oaks Course recently and overall had a solid round. The layout is enjoyable with a nice mix of holes and offers a fair challenge without being overly punishing. The greens were in good shape and rolled well. The fairways were quite dry and mostly brown—slightly better than other courses in the area, but still clearly winter conditions. That seems to be normal for this region this time of year, so it’s more of a visual issue than a playability problem. Pace of play was a little slow during our round, which took away slightly from the overall experience. Staff at check-in was frien…

Love this golf course so much, I became a member. The FWB golf course has two courses. The pines are a lot better than the oaks, but the oaks have been improving significantly lately. The driving range is awesome also! Worth every penny!

Great local course for Texas golfers. Friendly staff. Course in great shape in May, 2026. Book on line at fwb.golf hit reserve to pay at course or book and pay to get 10% off price. Teesnap handles tee sheet as 3rd party on line booking. Paul C Portland, Tx

I’ve never played golf while vacationing to Florida, but I’m so glad we started! This course is beautiful and I had a great time playing it with family. We will be back! Very friendly staff, good food, awesome course.

After closing The Pines for 6-12 months to resprig the greens, we were pleasantly surprised to see the fairways narrowed, mounds in the fairways, and even bunkers in a couple of fairways which definitely made it more interesting. And the greens were beautiful! Never mind the improvements to their range with probably 30 Trackmans.

What a transformation! It's clear that the staff at Fort Walton Beach Golf Club have been working hard on improvements. The greens on the Pines course are in excellent shape, and the fairways are perfectly maintained. The attention to detail really shows and makes for a pristine playing experience. Combine that with the Pines new layout and the warm, welcoming staff, and you have one of the best courses in the area. Great job, FWBGC!"

Want to start out with this place has ALOT of potential! But this course has gone downhill and is going down quick. The way the staff handles certain situations strictly based off of the person is wrong. Targeting people, certain gaggle groups is not cool especially for how much money people spend. To me it seems as their focus is more on entertainment than the actual golf course. The track man is a cool feature but half way works and gets weird readings ALOT! Could’ve got better equipment to take care of the course easier maintenance on the course is more important. But it’s forgotten about…

Worst Golf Experience in Fort Walton Beach I’ve been a paying member here for a long time, spending over $1,000 a month, and this place has gone downhill fast. The management is absolutely terrible — rude, unprofessional, and completely disconnected from how to treat paying members or guests. During my time here, I witnessed staff yelling at players, enforcing rules inconsistently, and showing clear bias toward certain groups while others get singled out or embarrassed publicly. It’s embarrassing for a city-owned course to be run like this. The course itself is in poor shape — greens are pa…

Playing The Oaks. Nice course and it’s in good shape. Played yesterday and today. If you’re semi-fast DO NOT play here. Yesterday I caught up with a threesome on eight and today with a foursome on two and neither group would let me play through. It seems to be the MO here. I’ve had to wait on every shot done two.

Thanks for allowing me to pay full price for punched greens…pardon, “dynamic pricing.” Let’s just make crap up to squeeze everyone out of as many dollars as we can, even though the course doesn’t warrant the fees. Golf courses in Okaloosa county are greedier than politicians.

The Pines is a great place to play now - the greens are some of the best around and the course layout is great. New bunkers added along with some trees added as well as some rough in a few strategic places to make it a little more challenging. The driving range with the new Trackman system is a great place to come warm up before your round or just use when you want to practice or to just hang out with your family or friends. Now for the negative: I had a buddy come down to visit and we played the Oaks (which was the first time I have played it this year) and it was not in great shape at all…
