In summary

Gateway National Golf Links is frequently praised for its well-maintained Bentgrass fairways, challenging layout, and scenic views of the Gateway Arch, making it a standout public course in the St. Louis area. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, and the course offers a rewarding experience for golfers of various skill levels. However, some visitors have noted issues with divot repair on the fairways and inconsistent green conditions, as well as occasional dissatisfaction with the course's accommodation policies for disabled golfers.

It is the end of April and the course is beat up! Fairways and tee boxes are all divots. Nobody on this course repairs their divots. For $120 you would expect better. Also we only saw a beverage cart once for the whole 18. Would expect more for what is paid. I would say the entire staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Almost forgot the best part. The race track next door. All round long all you heard were the damn race cars.

Played here on the day after a storm, and the course was perfect. The fairways are absolutely perfect to hit off of. The greens are perfect as well, fairly flat and true. The staff was absolutely curtious and some of the most friendly people I have ever met on a public course. We also ate at the restaurant. The food was regular golf course food hamburgers, hotdogs, wraps, and a few other items, but it was all great food and prepared behind the bar in full view. The only thing I didn't care for was the dust blowing in from the factory nearby on holes 2 through 6. The wind was blowing from the s…

We recently had the pleasure of playing a round at Gateway National Golf Links, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation as the #1 public golf course in St. Louis. What really sets this course apart is that it's the only public course in the area with Bentgrass fairways—a major bonus for any serious golfer looking for premium playing conditions. The course is beautifully maintained, with several holes offering stunning views of the Gateway Arch, adding a unique visual element that makes the experience even more memorable. As for the play itself—be ready for a challenging but rewarding ro…

If you’re in the St. Louis area and appreciate a nice course, play Gateway National. Their challenging layout, links style course and bent grass greens are a real treat. We were the 3rd group to tee off in the morning and the pace of play was 3 hours 15 minutes. We both played well and the groups in front of us kept moving along nicely.

Always a fun golf course! Played here over the summer and it was in great shape, especially for the price. More recently I played the Gateway Gobbler, and despite being under 40 degrees and late November, it was in surprisingly good shape too. They recently punched the fairways, but it didn't make much of a difference. They course had a fun layout with some great views of the St Louis skyline. Definitely with a visit if you're looking to play around the St Louis area.

Course was in amazing shape. You can tell that lots of rounds are played based upon the number of divots in the fairway . That speaks to the quality of course that you can actually get a divot here . I really like the layout . The starter told us that everything is in front of you . You can see the hazards in front you . It is a very long but fair course . I honestly cant wait to give back and play again

This course is fantastic! Plus, their website's dynamic pricing allows you to get a much better price than you would pay for their tee time on golf now. However, you can tell that the course receives a lootttt of play based on the crazy amount of divots that can be seen all over the course. But it does attest to the fact that you can hit clean, crisp divots, even when the state has not received rain in weeks. You can tell they are trying their hardest to keep the fairways green by watering them intensely. You will find the occasional mushy spot or standing water near the sidewalks. The length…

I’ve only played here a few times but have always found it to be in great shape and the staff first class. The last time I played, the greens had been recently aerated and sanded but still rolled true and pretty fast.
