The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Had the best time here! It's right by the beach and there's a variety of activities you can do including pickleball, tennis, swimming pool, golf and more, all with a stunning view. They also have multiple restsaurants on property including the gorgeous Marine Room, and this is a great place to stay to get access to member exclusive activities. Our room had a view of the beach which was stunning, and rooms were a little older but very clean and spacious with a full kitchen. Definitely would recommend a weekend getaway here, you really don't need to leave the property!

Went here for a good friends wedding. The place was amazing. First class everything. The venue and staff were fantastic. The bar setting next to the beach was beautiful and equally as nice. Can't recommend this place enough to visit/stay for a few days or week if you can afford it.

The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club is a timeless gem. The private beach is beautiful, calm, and perfect for families, and the service is always top-notch. The staff go out of their way to make every visit feel special, whether you’re staying overnight or just enjoying the day. The grounds are immaculate, the restaurant is fantastic, and the views of the ocean are unbeatable. It’s classic La Jolla luxury with a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

Had a great family reunion the past week. Enjoyed our stay here. The college kids working here are absolutely fabulous and the stars of the show! They are so happy to be working there, helpful, and will do anything that you need to have a great experience! Breakfast and coffee in the Walnut room were a great way to start the day! The gym is small, but great equipment and a good place to work out! The beach is nice and the water is not too cold. We did fire pit a couple nights and that was fun. Overall, a great experience and would do it again!

The photos make this place look much nicer than it actually is—it’s run-down and poorly maintained. The staff are extremely rude. One security guard, Daniel, even forced people off the beach simply because they weren’t hotel guests. We were talking to these individuals when he made them leave, despite the fact that this is a public beach up to the high tide line. If the hotel insists on enforcing its boundaries, they should clearly mark their exact property line instead of harassing visitors and ruining their day over a matter of a few feet. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Avoid this sc…

The rooms are in serious need of updating…. All of the beachfront rooms feel cheap, used up, and unintentionally vintage. Stained fabrics and musty smells everywhere. For the price, this place needs a significant overhaul. Take a look at La Valencia or Coronado for what an expensive hotel should be like in the San Diego area. The staff is top notch and the beach view is, of course, amazing! Five stars for service and location, one for rooms.

Your employee, Daniel Fink, needs to be re-trained, the beach was stated as a public beach. The hotel has individuals policing the beach and requesting them to move their towels and equipment further into high tide. The first time we were cordial and agreed to do so from the first employee as we weren't staying at the hotel. From which point, Daniel, the second employee approaches my wife and mother and proceeds to tell us we need to move our towels and personal items further into the water. I let him know that we were informed the first time and don't understand why we have to move further in…

I live in San Diego and come to La Jolla consistently for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking. This particular day the hotel staff ask my friends and I to move our stuff off their property which was just a foot away so we did. Went into the water, came back out and another staff member asked us to move. We informed them that we did per request of the last staff member and this man stated he was wrong and that we still had to move. We were well into the public state beach already and told him we would not be moving. This guy stated he was getting the police involved and told us we were not allowe…

Summer Beach Hut menu was hard to find online to plan for littles, but it’s so family friendly and such a great place to take babies! They are helpful and understanding and love families!

Window shades were broken, they put us in the wrong room and refused to help us move into the new room (shades also broken in there). They got food orders wrong (with dietary restrictions) and the food was not very good either. The beach service was good and pretty location but overall a terrible experience. Would not come back.
