What People Say

In summary

Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is frequently praised for its beautiful, challenging courses with unique layouts and well-maintained greens, as well as its friendly and attentive staff. The club offers excellent amenities, including comfortable villas and a well-stocked clubhouse with quality food options. However, some visitors have noted issues with overwatered fairways, inconsistent course conditions, and high pricing, which can detract from the overall experience.

Beautiful executive level golf course with beautiful landscape and layout. Nature all around. Highly recommend if you’re in Tampa.

Great place to golf and stay. Accomodations are great and the courses are in fabulous shape. I played both courses and both have their unique challenges. Food was outstanding.

Both courses were beautiful with spectacular holes! I think I like the north course a little bit more but both are fantastic and are in fantastic shape. Would absolutely recommend this course to anyone that enjoys a good round of golf! Just be prepared the greens are pretty fast!

Great layout golf course. Good shape. However…. Seems fairways are overwatered. Good fairways, dont get me wrong. But, mushy most places. Greens were soft and very very fast. It was like the grass was slightly grown out and the rolled them flat. Uphill, you hear the fluff and its slow. Down hill, either hole it out or you have a 10’ back up. Staff was lame. Pro shop guy who checked me in was short and little rude. Ive never been here, and he didnt care to guide me. So, i asked around for a cart, drove around until i found the chipping green and range, and went from there. Good putting gree…

Beautiful and good layouts for both courses. The green speeds are good but conditions are average especially on the North course. Both courses have plenty of green undulations to challenge every putt. Some elavation changes on the courses to make Lake Jovita more interesting and fun to play in Florida. The North is more open with relatively wide fairways, a semi-link style course; while the South is tighter with more tree lines, a more typical FL course. With plenty of undulations and good speed on the greens, it's a challenge for the ball to stop. It's advised to land your ball way before the…

The best fairways in West Florida. A must play while in Tampa Bay Area.

Overpriced and oversold. I was charged full price without being informed that the course was overseeded and restricted to cart-path-only. Many holes were running sprinklers during play, leaving the fairways waterlogged and messy, and overall the course conditions were disappointing. The carts don’t have GPS—not a big deal at a $50 course, but hard to justify at $100. I’m not sure how this place earns such high ratings, but my experience was far from great.

Our favorite course of our golf trip. I rather play both courses here than most other ones in the area. We did the north, links style. Nice range and staff and clubhouse. Great condition.

Had a foursome for the north course. Overall the course was in great condition and fun. Felt a bit uneasy after visiting the driving range first as the tees were grass but there was lacking any grass. Either changed to mats or spend more money on the upkeep. But the course condition made up for it. Only improvement I would make would be having more beverage carts or letting the golfers know of the situation. We didn’t see anyone until the 16th hole and it doesn’t come back after 9, so no way to fend for yourself.

Great golf experience, the staff could not have been nicer and the courses were beautiful, however we stayed in the Villas and while comfortable they are getting older and in need of maintenance and touch up but otherwise great facilities.

This past May was the third year hosting and coordinating a group of 24 men of all ages and abilities. The weather was perfect and the courses in good shape. Since 1979, I have been privileged to help organize a group of golfers originating from St. Louis but now gathering from all over the United States. The one criteria that we have always followed was to play 10 rounds in 6 days on two different courses (Marathon golf). Lake Jovita has been a perfect fit for us, especially with the Villas that allow us to stay right at the courses avoiding a lot of travel back and forth after playing 36…
