Wow!!!! One of my favorite courses I’ve ever played. Very challenging around the green areas. Great layout demanding different tee shots. Super nice staff. Great range. One of the best logos I ever seen symbolizing the 300y old oak tree with a Palmetto palm tree. That you perfectly can see from 18’s green and club house. If you have a chance to play here don’t miss out.

For golfers, it's unnecessary to say more about the May River Golf Course on their property. It's a beautiful Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

This is one of the nicest private clubs I have ever played at. The course does not see near as much play as some of the other courses in the area, so it stays in excellent condition. It is a difficult course with many elevated greens that are firm and fast. However, it is a fair course that will greatly reward good shots. The finishing hole had an excellent view of the clubhouse and the lake in front as well. Cap that off with the incredible views of the lowlands and houses in the course and it is an unforgettable round.

Service is excellent. The golf course is challenging and beautiful. We got a forecaddie named Mason who was fantastic and made the round much better. Would love to return.

Golf course is beautiful. Amenities are top notch and the staff was amazingly helpful and kind. Great selection in the pro shop! Only downside is that you cannot charge anything to your room, from the golf club, at the Montage Resort.

This golf course offers a perfect array of challenge and beauty. In true Nicklaus fashion, there are a handful of holes that deceive the player into underestimating their elevated difficulty (often with strategically placed bunkers), while others introduce forced carries and small, protected greens leaving the golfer intimidated visually. With lakes and rivers abound, tall trees and mossy oaks everywhere, and marshlands in the distance, nearly every hole is picture-worthy. Even driving the cart between holes over low bridges through the forest feels like a Robert Frost poem. The greens are as…

Kinda pricey but it's more than a gas station. There's a large and diverse of inventory to choose from. From fresh pastries to fresh seafood and meats, large selection of wines, and home trinkets and South Carolina/Palmetto Bluff branded paraphernalia. Great place to visit.

Set within the 20,000 acre river-island of Palmetto Bluff, May River Golf Club, rated 4-1/2 stars, is home to a highly-rated 18-hole Jack Nicklaus design. Weaving through the May River forest, the layout features several holes that sidle alongside or have you putting out on the banks of the river. Golfers are encouraged to walk the course with a caddie, to best appreciate the majesty of the century-old live oaks and the inherent beauty of the South Carolina lowcountry landscape.
