In summary

Naniloa Volcanoes Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability, relaxed atmosphere, and convenient location near downtown, making it a suitable option for beginners and casual golfers. The staff is often praised for their friendliness, and the course offers a unique experience with its tropical setting. However, many visitors note that the greens and overall course conditions are subpar, with issues like crabgrass, uneven surfaces, and limited amenities. Rental equipment and golf carts also receive criticism for their poor quality.

Pretty decent course. Muni quality. Greens are just shaved down fairway so just have fun with it. This course either has tremendous potential or was the most amazing course back in the day. If the greens were typical golf greens, this would be 5 stars from me. The club rentals are like if your middle aged cousin who played in the 90's went to a thrift store and cleaned them out.

Played here on a Saturday end of May 2025. Only cards are accepted, no cash. No queue or tee times required, a very relaxed atmosphere. 25 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal. The course is what you pay for, inexpensive, but I enjoyed my time immensely. Greens are not the best, bunkers are grassed over, barely any water in play, rough can be thick in places, but a fairly easy course. Will happily come back to play here again 👍

Positives are friendly staff and pace of play. The course including the green is made up of mostly weed. Trees overhanging the some holes on the fairway make it extra challenging. While it is pretty inexpensive, I would only recommend for casual golfers or those just learning the game.

Pleasant little compact golf course. Decently manicured fairways and trees, but the greens were mostly dirt and multiple types of grass; hardly smooth surfaces. That said, fun vibe and super affordable prices more than make up for that. If you're just looking for a good time, you'll likely have one. Golf carts can be rented for a dozen bucks, and everything else ya need is super affordable as well, if you show up empty handed.

The lady at the Front Desk is awesome! The price is DIRT CHEAP. But you get what you pay for. It does the trick if you need to get out though. The rental clubs are atrocious. My hands were so sore I could not even get my wedding ring back on. You would think a tourist location would do better. It’s a 9 hole course. Spend the money on a cart solely because anytime you stand still you get attacked by bugs. If you can get one. I think they have two. The fairways are crab grass and the greens are even worse. You could putt better in the parking lot on pavement. If you bring your clubs with you on…

Great for a quick 9 or play through twice for 18. Challenging dog legs and narrow fairways. This 9hole course uses the small space it has and works with it well. Lots of walkers as there is no cart path. You can get a cart but they are old and need replacement sooner than later. Traps are grown over grass and if you hit your ball to the sides its hard to find in the foliage. But keep in mind.... you are in a rainforest.

Great course for the beginner golfer or if you don't have much time. Greens are not very good and offer ample excuses for poor play. Inexpensive and downtown location are also a plus.

Greens are improving. Bunkers could use some attention. Could use more selections in food, snacks and beverages. Fun, basic course. Getting better every week.

My teenage daughter and I played this course simply so we could say we played golf in Hawaii. And—for that—it was great. We didn’t bring our own clubs, we didn’t want to spend much money, and we’re not very good. So—for our specific constellation of circumstances—this place fit the bill: they have (terrible) rental clubs and it was free with our hotel room. Also, we saw some pretty wildlife as we played. BUT if you are not basically in the same situation as us, this course will disappoint you. There are no golf carts. The greens and tee boxes are laughable. It is buggy. And all the sand trap…

Fun little executive course with 2 5's on it! If you're visiting, just remember it's the Island and it will be HUMID! Good fun until it's time to putt, but it's equally bad for anyone and good for laughs, just don't expect great scores. Average 2-3 putts because the greens are the same grass as the fairways, tee box and hazards just shorter and some with crab grass! Have fun! 😅🤙🏌️

We play here a couple of days a week. Nice and casual. Greens need work but for a low price its a fun course and great surroundings. They are short on carts so be aware if you want one you may have to wait a little while.

Great price. 9 holes only. Fairway grass is long even when mowed it's like playing out of the rough. The rough is unplayable and will eat your ball. Greens are horrible. Design is good and staff is great. Still fun to practice on the course.
