In summary

Sea Mountain Golf Course offers an affordable golfing experience with scenic ocean views and a layout that many find interesting. However, several visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as unwatered fairways and slow greens, as well as a lack of amenities like cold drinks and clear signage. Additionally, some guests have reported negative interactions with staff and mentioned that the course has been closed for an extended period.

You will love it because... $28 for 18 w/cart, good layout with some very interesting holes, ocean views from half the holes, most southern course in US. You will hate it because... no cold drinks of any kind available, fairways are not watered and are basically dead grass/dirt on most holes, no yardage markers anywhere, slowest greens I've played and the rental clubs are awful.

A nice course. May have been outstanding at one time but, is still very playable and fair. I found some of the tees and collars a bit overgrown but understand that maintenance has it's hands full with budget. Rental clubs were ok but, could use a good cleaning. One suggestion to management, a little better signage, especially at the back of #12 would be helpful. Enjoyed my round very much.

After a long drive and plans for the day to play 18 holes at this course, we were greeted by the worst golf attendant woman ever. We arrived at 1230 to play 18 holes, as we walked into the door the woman golf attend had a rude attitude. She then proceeded to tell us that we could not play 18 holes. After explaining our case of a long drive she said she would allow is to play 9, although we were there early enough to play 18. Completely rude the whole time. After finishing 9 by 2 o'clock she was there waiting for us to then promptly kick us off the course. I've never in my life been treated thi…

The last review is correct women at proshop is rude, abrupt and cold. The course is like a toilet .The clubhouse where you get cart looks like something out of Jurassic Park . No hole markers on course , condition of course is horrible .....The rental clubs are beat to hell like something you would put on the curb for the trashman . Only 1 other golfer on course on weekend at 9am. That should tell you something .

At one time this place was probably one hell of a course to play. The layout is great but over the years it seams they have let it go. Kinda a shame. I don't expect them to keep this course open for very much longer. Poorly maintained and greens or trash. But for 28$ u get what u pay for. I wouldn't recommend driving from Kona or Hilo to play here but if your staying at the condos down hear then u might find it interesting. All else said if u had a group of friends that wanted to hit some balls around then this would be a great place to go. I do hope that someday this place would come back to…

Where else can you play in December with 80 degree sunny weather on the ocean for less than $30 on weekends? The maintenance crew try do do their best but unless they add a 0 at the end of their green fees, the conditioning is what it is. The greens may look spotty but since they are bermuda tif, they roll great. No shirt, no shoes, no problem.

Course has been closed for a couple of years. It looked like it would be a excellent course if somebody bought it and brought some TLC to it.
