In summary

River Oaks Golf Plantation is frequently praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, as well as its well-maintained fairways and challenging greens. Many visitors appreciate the course's affordability and convenient location, with some noting the enjoyable layout and overall pleasant golfing experience. However, there are occasional criticisms regarding the condition of the bunkers and greens, particularly during wet weather, and some guests have mentioned issues with pace of play and limited clubhouse amenities.

Although it rained, it was an awesome experience at a really nice course! From the front desk, to the cart attendants, to the starter, everyone was very pleasant and put up with my rowdy bunch from out of town! We booked a tee time at the last minute and they put us on right when we asked! Great course for the money! I highly recommend!!

Booked a few weeks before our vacation and was happy to find out my 10 year could play for free. Everyone was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We only got through 9 holes after a crazy rainstorm. However, the course was great and right next to our condo. We look to come back soon.

Golf course is pretty nice, but not very special compared to others i the area. Very playable even though it was really wet the day I played (cart path only too). Staff was nice, but the "clubhouse" doesn't have much to offer. Paid $50 because one of the guys we were with is local and had some kind of discount card for the area and we were his guests. Check it out for yourself.

Fun course to play with a great price point. Greens were very smooth and rolled true. Nice layout. I would play again. The young gentleman who was the cart guy, bartender, and genuinely nice guy seemed to be able to do it all and had a great attitude and personality.

The course is currently in rough shape, especially the front 9. Bunkers are all under repair so they are not in play. The greens are in terrible condition, which hasn't changed in the past 2 years. Tee boxes are all dried and ripped up. Fairway is nice though. Cheap to play so that's the good part.

Great course. Very well kept. Service was outstanding! Definitely started our week of golf perfect! Carts had a USB. Full bar and food available.

Course was a little rough at the time we played (Early March) but I would like to play this in a better time. Our starter was very nice the clubhouse and grill employees and the young lady with the beverage cart were all kind. The coarse was all right but it was a hard time to make any judgment. Prices were all right but a little wet and with having to leave your carts on the cart path it can be a long walk.

December Golf Trip: 5 stars for the experience even though we played in the rain on a course that had received 3 days of rain. It's not the course's fault. Lots of water hazards, lol. Staff were very friendly. Club house tidy as a pin. Carts like brand new. Wished we could have played this course in better weather, but when you travel as far as we did, you make do. As a Canadian, it's better to be golfing at the end of December instead of shoveling. I really enjoyed the views and layout. Back 9 was much drier if given a choice following poor weather.

River Oaks proved to be a hidden gem given the rough weather (during the over-seeding periods) with plenty to offer early in the season (March). To preface, this course had bar-none the friendliest staff I have yet to meet on a golf course. From pro shop, bar, bag drop, starter, bev cart and ranger, every single staff member elevated our experience. Truly made the experience memorable in and of itself. The fairways, tee boxes, and greens were in acceptable condition for the area given the brutal fall and winter. Offering a relatively straightforward golfing experience, several holes can leav…

Not too bad at all. Thoroughly enjoyed being out on the course. They have a few water stations around the course. Officials did a great job of keeping traffic moving. Definitely will play here again.

Every single bunker was under maintenance and unusable. Also random water puddling out of the middle of the fairway on a few holes like it was a busted sprinkler or something. Got yelled at for not keeping pace of play. They expected a group of 4 to take between 5-10 minutes per hole, paid $65 each and couldn't enjoy the trip because we were being rushed by staff the entire time (on a random monday). Staff were also going to the group behind us and talking smack about us. Negative trip all together, won't be returning.

Outstanding staff and golf course conditions. Greens were in great shape and everyone we met went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The course is a little tight in places and lined with condo buildings but they took the time and effort to install driving range nets in places to capture wayward shots.
