In summary

Riverwood Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course conditions, diverse and challenging layout, and friendly staff. The club offers a scenic setting with three 9-hole courses that provide variety and a good pace of play. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the golf carts' GPS system causing delays and the condition of the practice range balls, while a few have noted issues with sand traps and drainage.

Had the opportunity to play the course Saturday Sept 20, and will honestly say that it is a definite "do again". Probably the best course I've played in 6 years coming from Colorado and Florida. This is a very hilly 27 holes, with lush fairways, and you better have your "A" game ready. Trouble all around the tree lined course, but wide fairways with well groomed first cut of rough and deep and steep beyond that. The carts will shut off if you stray into an area near the greens or par 3 (cart path only), so better signage would be helpful, but aside from having to use reverse to get out of trou…

Play here quite frequently. Overall a good experience. Management and employees are nice. Courses are always managed and upkeep during season. Lots of course variety if you get the membership. I’ve had the membership for roughly 8 months, only issues I’ve had in this time is range ball picker broke two or three times which meant no range balls, and maybe a handful of pacing issues but that happens in golf so it’s to be expected. All 27 holes are unique and have their own challenges. I’ve only had one golf cart battery die at hole 17 in the 8 months I’ve been coming here, I go out at least once…

Played it in a fundraising tournament on the Deer Run and Riverview courses. Great staff, nice layout, well maintained, located in a very nice neighborhood, but fairly hilly - not what I would consider a walking course. Some great views. Really can't rate the amenities as we didn't use them.

Fantastic golf course so close to Raleigh and Cary! Unbelievable variety of holes and elevation changes. We didn't wait on a single hole -tee times spread out and great pace of play. Conditions were very good, fast greens, nice fairways and tee boxes. We got a GolfNow deal and had a wonderful time.

I played here yesterday and had a great time. The course conditions are an excellent shape this time of year, and the greens are pretty quick. I would say for $31 using golf now, I got an absolute steal. That said, a lot of the holes can be pretty tight so you do need a bit of accuracy off the tee. Please see photos and video for course conditions.

Nice track, wide open for the most part. Some attackable holes especially the par 5s. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Some sand traps were too hard to hit out of so treat them like ground under repair.

Riverwood’s 3 9-hole course options help make it feel different every time we play. Being along the river, the surrounding landscape is mature and beautiful, with plenty of shade along the cart path. Range, tees, fairways, and greens are all in great shape. Clubhouse has good food and drinks and they have upgraded carts.

It's definitely an enjoyable and interesting course. Pretty area. The 2 individual 9 hole courses played were let's say challenging.

Unforgettable First Visit: Beautiful Course, Great People, and Honest Management. I played this course for the first time on July 25th with a 10:50 tee time, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I was paired with Tony and his two friends, who were incredibly kind and respectful. Tony even guided me through each hole, knowing it was my first time, and his help made a big difference. The course was more challenging than I expected, with several par 4s requiring tee shots with woods, hybrids, or irons instead of a driver. My shots were a bit off that day, but I still had a great…

Haven't played the course yet but it has 3 9s. They rotate thru them 2 at at time weekdays so they can maintain 1. Great idea. All that I saw looked to be in great shape. I was there for the driving range. It was great offering artificial a real grass to hit off depending on club. Ball cost was reasonable and they have quite a few slots.

I played this course for the first time today, it was enjoyable for the first 20 minutes. On hole 3 I noticed that the carts have a GPS system that disables your cart if you go off the cart path or into any “restricted areas” because mine began to malfunction even though I was on the cart path. This happened to me twice, and both times I had to call the pro shop for them to fix it remotely resulting in my group falling 20 minutes behind pace and holding up two groups behind me. Is this really necessary? Other than that the greens/fairways were in good shape and I would definitely be tempted to…
