Best municipal golf course on Oahu, Good place for residents to get a good rate on a round of golf. The good: Tee boxes are kept up, and usually has nice grass. Fairways are nice with just a few bare spots here and there. Greens are nice and smooth, putts roll nicely. The greens are also receptive, so we can have fun some spin on our chips and pitches. No bald spots on the greens, people need to fix their divots, but still pretty smooth. Sand traps around the green mostly has sand. Great course. It's short, under 6000 yards. 3 par fives on the front 9 n 3 par 3s on the back. It's all about course management, but definitely fun. On a side note, you can play up to 6 players per group. I thought this was weird but it was fun. The pace of play isn't the best obviously.

One of the better conditions as far as Muni courses go. There are only white (71) and red (72) tees but some holes play like blues (for me anyway). The course is entirely flat so it's very friendly for push carts, and many players do choose that over driving. Yet the pace of play is usually not bad, relative to West Loch and Ala Wai. Overall a good course to improve your game if you can get the tee time you want. The staff is friendly but just show up on time or expect to become stand-by.

Fun public course with great people. Got on right away and had a great time. Pretty flat course with great scenery and nice fairways and greens. Great price too.

30 years later I played Ted M. Golf course and WOW! The course looks amazing and the fairways are green 90% not like 30 years ago back then it was 90% dirt. I was beyond impressed with how well the course looked and played. The staff ran the line up perfectly and the players were very nice and friendly to play with. The only complaint is my golf game which is pathetic since I recently got back into golf. Overall this course is the best public course on the island. I hope to be back later to break 100 again hopefully 🤞🏻. Thank you again for the excellent experience playing Ted M.

Course was in good shape (fairways and greens). Challenging but fair. Nice municipal course.

Today was cool because of the overcast. The greens & fairways were surprisingly green! Maybe that's why I had a difficult time putting. Lol! Just enough wind to make hole 8 palatable. Overall, out in thr fresh air, golfing with friends, better than decent golf course...we had a great time!

We were driving down the road on Waipio point access Rd which is next to the Ted makalena golf course. And a golf ball flew over the fence and hit our front windshield, cracking it. We file a claim want to get compensation for repair. The stuff told us that the golf course are in change by city. Report to the honolulu gov. Request was process and closed. Not thing happened next Rediculous

Fairways and greens are decently kept for a municipal course. Some greens are nicer than others but still nicer than some cheaper private courses I've played. Need golf ID to get resident rate. You'll be paired with another party to make a foursome

Good place for beginners as well as experienced players, a flat course with a few challenging holes that include hitting over water, blind doglegs, and many trees. This is not a course for the impatient golfers though , many seniors play this course and walk, they are in no way slow but they enjoy golf and most hit it short but straight and play for the exercise. My avg rounds are between 4-5 hrs, being a public course you cannot expect the course to be immaculate but it's better than some of the private courses I have played . It's probably the best muni in hawaii. That's not saying much. No driving range. Very short course. Easy and flat course. Not too many places to hit a hazard. The greens are usually in good condition. They are a little on the slower side. Fairways are ok. They dont sell any food. No pro shop to buy anything. Atleast its never been open when I go. No cart girl. The crowd is mostly older, like 50-70 year old Asian men. Old people can get cranky. The last time i was here, an older foursome yelled at our group for playing slow.
