In summary

The Kiawah Island Club is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained golf courses, and attentive staff, making it a favored destination for golf enthusiasts and nature lovers. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the villa accommodations, citing issues such as outdated decor, cleanliness problems, and noise from ongoing renovations. While the amenities and grounds receive positive feedback, the quality of the villas appears inconsistent with the resort's luxury reputation.

We stayed in a house rented through ESPM, which I highly recommend. Much much better than resort villas. I have not stayed at the Sanctuary itself, but have eaten at the Jasmine room there. The grounds are sublime. A nature lovers dream. Great restaurants, bike trails, playground, tennis/pickleball, golf, beach. My happy place.

By far the best golf course I have ever been to all thanks to the staff and amazing hospitality. I was especially thankful for Nick Blackburn and Cole Peterson at the turtle point golf course they were above and beyond helpful and knowledgeable about the course and everything it had to offer and the rich history behind it. We will defiantly be coming back just because of them and all of the great amenities.

Very disappointed. Perhaps The Sanctuary is much nicer but the villas are old and in much need of repairmen. My bathroom even had a hole on the wall, and there’s a musky smell to the whole place. The grounds are huge and difficult to navigate just via shuttle.

Beautiful nature island. Downfall the resort is overpriced for subpar food at their restaurants. Amenities should be more for the price that is charged! The new bowling lanes are a plus but overpriced. The Resort should consider reducing the fees for their mediocre accommodations.

I can't express how much I wanted to pack my bags and leave as soon as we got here. We were here on business, so I couldn't leave. The outside walkway coming up the stairs to the villa, looked like no one had swept it out in a decade. Debri, spider webs, and whatnot littered the entire stairwell. I felt like I was in a Friday, the 13th movie at one of those old cabins. The condo was ok. Pretty much updated but smelled like mothballs. Overall, the villa was clean and located right at the beach. HERE COMES THE KICKER and the reason for a 1 star rating. The whole entirety of our luxurious, 5 star…

I was very disappointed with the accommodations at the tennis club “premier” villas. We arrived to a front door that was stuck and needed to be forced open revealing a huge scrape on the floor where it had rubbed. We found left over food in the fridge, empty beer bottles on the screened in porch, crumbs on the floor in the kitchen, cob webs and dust everywhere(fans, curtain rods, floor, credenza, etc.) broken shutters in the bedroom, broken exhaust and no bulb or cover over it in the bathroom, broken parts on the washing machine, flat bed sheets just draped over the mattress so they just rumpled…

The resort as a whole is beautiful. I hate giving a bad review, but I would not recommend the villa accommodation at this Resort. I was there for a work conference and left a day early due to the accommodations. I hate that I charged my company for the dump that I was assigned to. If I had been paying with my money, I would have checked out on day 1. The villa was old, musty and decorated in awful outdated 80’s decor. The unit needed a good paint job, new lighting and a deep clean. I would recommend trying a VRBO if you’re not staying at the Sanctuary. This Villa was booked through the resort.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This resort being advertised as “5-star luxury” is an absolute scam. My family and I stayed in 2 of the 2 bedroom Tennis Club Villas - one “Premier Villa” and one “Deluxe Villa” for a conference. Replace the advertised “luxury, premier and deluxe” with “dated, disgusting, dirty, run down, smelly, and gross”. When we arrived, we were met my the worst musty smells in both units. The first thing we saw when we entered the deluxe villa was a pile of trash and dirty linens that had not been removed by housekeeping from the previous occupants! In addition, the s…

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the way my family and I were treated by the resort’s management and concierge teams during our recent stay. What was supposed to be a joyful and memorable celebration for my husband’s 60th birthday turned into an incredibly frustrating and upsetting experience. Let me explain what happened: I first reached out to the concierge on March 28th to make dinner reservations and, most importantly, to organize my husband’s birthday dinner for July 19th. I was initially in communication with Alea from the Small Concierge Group. After receiving no…

Stayed in the Night Heron Villa 4103. I have never stayed in such an awful rental. SAFETY CONCERNS: black mold in closet, around air vents, and on living room ceiling. Front deck railing support post was rotten, making the whole railing usless if you needed it to break a fall. Cleanliness: there were blood stains on my bed cover, water stains in the closet, all the paint was pealing off the bathroom walls. Bathroom door didn't shut, bedroom door didn't shut (door would close but not latch so would push open without having to turn handle). Bedroom blind fell onto my fiance when she tried to o…

Stayed in a Windswept oceanview Villa. The Villa was in disrepair and not very clean. The island itself is beautiful. There is a lot of wildlife around you. The beaches were clean and not crowded. That is the best I can say about the location. The villa was well below my expectation for the price they charge to stay there. Service was awful. When I requested some clean towels for my villa because my dryer would not work I never received them.Front desk staff were not helpful or friendly.
